BTI designs, installs, monitors and services enterprise IP video systems for Los Angeles and Southern California organizations that rely on video for safety, liability protection and compliance. Every system is designed in System Surveyor, built on a secure, segmented network, tuned for real-time analytics, LPR, facial recognition and AI detection, and integrated with your access control, alarms and monitoring.

BTI is an Axis Gold Partner, holds California BSIS Alarm Company Operator license ACO 7670 and C-7 license 807767, and has designed and supported business technology for 40 years. Free assessment; 100% financing for hardware, licensing and labor.

Is BTI the right fit?

BTI is built for organizations and sites that need reliable, serviced or monitored cameras for safety, liability and compliance. We're the right partner when video has to protect people, produce defensible evidence and stand up to an auditor, insurer or investigator, and when it has to work with everything else:

  • Safety: protecting employees, patients, students, tenants and visitors across buildings, parking areas, yards and perimeters.
  • Liability: clear, time-synced evidence for incidents, claims, disputes and investigations.
  • Compliance: retention, privacy, access logging, NDAA-compliant hardware and contract requirements, documented so you can show how footage is controlled.
  • Multi-site and integrated: one accountable integrator and one management view for video, access control, alarm, monitoring and the network behind them, across one site or many.

If your project is about risk, accountability and long-term support, we should talk.

Designed in System Surveyor before anything is installed

Every BTI camera project starts in System Surveyor, the site-survey and design platform. We place each camera on your floor plans or aerial imagery and model its lens, field of view, detection depth and pixel density, so you can see whether a face, a plate or an action will actually be identifiable before hardware is ordered. You receive an itemized design and quote for every site, and the design becomes the as-built record your team uses for years.

Integrated real-time analytics that shorten response time

Analytics are integrated with your access control, alarm and monitoring, so an alert arrives with video attached and the right person sees it while it's happening:

  • Line-crossing and intrusion detection for perimeters, roofs, yards, docks and restricted rooms.
  • Loitering and occupancy alerts at entrances, garages, lobbies and stairwells.
  • Person and vehicle classification that ignores foliage, shadows, headlights and Santa Ana wind-blown debris, so alerts mean something.
  • Door-forced and door-held events from access control paired with the matching camera view.
  • Forensic search by object type, color, direction and time, so investigations take minutes.
  • Alerts routed to your security staff, a monitoring center or mobile devices.

LPR, facial recognition, pattern recognition and custom AI tuning

Out-of-the-box analytics produce missed plates, false matches and alert fatigue. BTI tunes them on site, for your scenes and schedules:

  • License plate recognition (LPR): camera angle, shutter, IR and capture zone set for vehicle speed and lighting at gates, garages, lots and fleet yards, with watchlist alerts and searchable plate history.
  • Facial recognition (where lawful and approved): configured with your leadership, HR and counsel. California privacy law (CCPA/CPRA) creates notice and data-handling obligations for biometric information, so we help you document a policy before enabling it. Audio: California generally requires all-party consent to record confidential conversations, so audio is disabled or limited by default.
  • Pattern recognition: recurring behavior such as repeat after-hours vehicles, tailgating at doors or loitering patterns, surfaced as alerts and reports.
  • Custom AI applications: detection models, zones and schedules configured for your site, then reviewed after a burn-in period to cut false alarms.

Thermal and radar for rooftop solar and critical infrastructure

Thermal cameras and radar extend detection where visible-light cameras fall short:

  • Rooftop solar: thermal cameras monitor rooftop solar arrays for abnormal temperatures and detect intruders on the roof at night.
  • Critical-infrastructure intrusion detection: at substations, water and wastewater facilities, utility yards and other critical sites, radar tracks movement across wide areas and cues PTZ cameras, and thermal detects people and vehicles in darkness, smoke, haze and glare, including at ports, distribution centers and utility yards.
  • Together they give earlier warning along long perimeters, with fewer false alarms than standard motion detection, and alarms can be verified by monitoring with video.

Video surveillance built for multi-site organizations

Southern California portfolios rarely stop at one building. We standardize designs, naming, retention rules and user roles across locations, roll them out site by site and give security, facilities and leadership one place to view, search and export video. Health monitoring flags offline cameras and failing recorders before an incident exposes the gap.

Platforms: we choose per site, not per vendor

Cloud, on-premises or hybrid: see cloud-based video surveillance and the Brivo and Eagle Eye cloud platform.

Network and cybersecurity: the part most camera vendors skip

A camera system is part of your IT attack surface. BTI designs PoE and VLANs, segments camera traffic, hardens cameras and recorders, secures remote access, recommends NDAA-compliant cameras where required and keeps firmware current. BTI is ISO 27001 compliant and a Cisco Select partner, and our NOC/SOC is SOC 2 certified. When cabling is needed, our C-7 licensed technicians install it. See network installation in Los Angeles.

Integrated with access control and alarms

Security camera integration links video to door events and alarm signals, so operators can verify an event with footage in seconds instead of searching recorders. BTI designs, installs and supports cameras, access control, intrusion alarms and monitoring as one system, under one integrator and one support agreement.

Monitoring, maintenance and support after go-live

BTI monitors camera and recorder health so a failed camera or full drive is caught before you need the footage, maintains firmware and manages user access. Our SOC 2 certified NOC/SOC (ConnectWise) has handled 10,000+ alerts with zero missed, engineers reply within one business day across Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire, and 98% of our clients stay with us. We also take over systems another integrator installed.

Designing coverage to reduce liability

Footage only reduces liability if it can identify people, vehicles and actions and prove a timeline. We design to identification-level detail at entrances, parking structures, loading docks, cash and pharmacy areas, high-value storage and other places where incidents and claims concentrate. Time synchronization, tamper detection, export audit trails and role-based access help keep evidence defensible when you need it.

Retention, privacy and governance

We help you define retention by camera and site, who can view and export video, how requests from law enforcement and attorneys are handled, and where privacy signage is required. Role-based permissions and audit logs make the policy enforceable, and network segmentation keeps video separate from business systems.

Modernizing legacy CCTV across Southern California

Many organizations still operate analog cameras, aging NVRs and a mix of brands inherited from acquisitions or past vendors. We phase upgrades by risk, reuse cabling with encoders where practical and consolidate sites onto one IP video platform, keeping coverage in place throughout the migration.

Case study: San Gabriel Valley Water Company

San Gabriel Valley Water Company is a privately owned, full-service water utility serving approximately 94,000 customers in Southern California. BTI is its single-source provider of VoIP, network and physical security systems, down to wiring and conduit, plus cybersecurity monitoring and protection.

"We utilize all their IT services to help maintain infrastructure and security, including daily monitoring and reporting. It relieves some of the pressure because we do not have to constantly monitor and check ourselves. They streamline the process." — Jeff Johnston, Network System Administrator, SGVW
