People call a church or nonprofit for help, for a ministry, for a service time, or in a crisis. Every one of those calls should reach the right person. BTI provides cloud phone systems for churches and nonprofits with routing by ministry and campus, after-hours care lines, Microsoft Teams calling, paging and lockdown alerts, and AI call handling, from the team that started in business phones in 1985. BTI has upgraded phones for clients such as The Moody Church in Chicago. → Historic church technology upgrades

An auto attendant and ring groups send callers to the right ministry, campus or program: children's ministry, missions, facilities, benevolence, the food pantry. Staff answer from desk phones, laptops or the mobile app, and the number stays with the organization when people move on. → Cloud phone services · GoodPhone
Route after-hours calls to the on-call pastor or care team by schedule, with voicemail that is transcribed and emailed so nothing waits until Monday.
Staff make and take calls in Teams through Operator Connect or Direct Routing, using the Microsoft 365 licenses many nonprofits already have. → Teams phone calling plans
Paging and mass notification to announce a lockdown or weather alert across buildings, intercoms at locked doors, and alerts to safety team phones, tied to your security system. → Paging and mass notification · Axis network intercoms · Church security systems
Multi-line phone systems must support direct 911 dialing and send a dispatchable location (FCC MLTS 911 requirements). On a campus with a sanctuary, school wing and gym, that location needs to be specific. BTI sets it up and keeps it current.
Queues, callbacks, call recording where permitted and reporting for intake lines, donor services and hotlines. → Cloud call center software
Small front offices can't answer every call. An AI receptionist answers common questions (service times, directions, event registration, giving), routes urgent pastoral or crisis calls to a person immediately, and sends staff a short summary. Calls can be transcribed and summarized under rules you set, with care and counseling calls excluded from recording or AI processing where you choose. As your Guided Automation Partner, BTI connects this AI to the phone system you already own and governs it under a policy aligned with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework. Guided Automation advisory is included in managed IT plans, and governed AI clients often pay no separate AI license fee, instead of another per-seat AI add-on. → AI for nonprofits and churches · AI services
The big hosted UCaaS platforms have good AI features, and for some organizations an all-in-one hosted bundle is the convenient choice. The trade-offs are worth knowing before you sign: the AI usually comes as an ongoing per-user subscription, the upgrade path is set by the vendor rather than by you, and the bundle includes features many users never touch. BTI's alternative is a reliable phone system plus AI agents and workflows that you own (an AI receptionist, call routing, and call summaries delivered into the systems you already use), governed and co-managed by BTI, with no royalties or license fees to SaaS providers for what we build.
Grow at your own pace:
You can stop at any step. Every step runs on systems you own, so nothing you build is lost if you change vendors later.

They can be a good fit if you want everything from one vendor. Compare the per-user AI subscription over several years, who controls upgrades, and how many bundled features your people will actually use. BTI can also deliver a phone system plus AI agents you own, governed and co-managed by BTI, and will price both side by side.
