Managed SIEM and Autonomous SOC Services in Los Angeles, Chicago and Phoenix
Your firewalls, laptops, servers and Microsoft 365 accounts record what happens on your network every minute. BTI pulls those security logs into one SIEM platform, uses AI-assisted triage to sort the noise from the real problems, and puts analysts in our 24/7 NOC/SOC on the alerts that matter, day and night.
- Security logs collected, correlated and watched around the clock
- Autonomous SOC workflows for first-pass triage, with people making the calls
- Containment steps you approve in advance, written into your incident response plan
- Optional 1-year log retention for investigations, audits and insurer requests

The problem
Your systems already log the warning signs. Nobody is reading them.
Most breaches leave a trail well before the damage: a sign-in from an unusual country, a new admin account, a laptop talking to a server it never contacts. The clues are scattered and arrive faster than any small team can review.
Every tool keeps its own records
Firewall, endpoint, email and identity logs each live in a separate console. An attack that touches three of them looks like three small, unrelated events.
Too many alerts, too few people
Busy IT teams learn to ignore warnings that are usually harmless. Attackers count on that, and they like to strike at night, on weekends and over holidays.
Proof gets requested after the fact
Insurers, auditors and large customers now ask what happened, when, and how you know. Without centralized, retained logs, the honest answer is often a guess.
What you get
Managed SIEM plus an autonomous SOC: technology, automation and people
Buying a SIEM license is the easy part. Tuning it, watching it at 3 AM and acting on what it finds is the hard part. With BTI, all three layers come as one managed service, sometimes called SIEM as a service or SOC as a service.
Managed SIEM
Security information and event management (SIEM) gathers events from across your environment, lines them up on one timeline and applies detection rules, so patterns surface that no single tool would show. A SIEM finds the pattern; it does not act on it alone.
Autonomous SOC workflows
Automation does the repetitive first pass on every alert: it adds context such as the user, device and location, groups related events into a single case and ranks it by risk. Analysts start with a short, ordered list instead of a flood.
24/7 human analysts
People in BTI's 24/7 NOC/SOC confirm whether a case is real, work out how far it reaches and take the containment steps your incident response plan allows. AI speeds the work up; it does not make the final decision.
How it works
From raw logs to a documented response in five steps
- ConnectWe agree which systems send events, set up collection and record the containment actions you pre-approve in your incident response plan.
- Collect and correlateEvents stream into our SIEM platform, are normalized onto one timeline and run against detection rules.
- AI-assisted triageAutonomous SOC workflows enrich each alert, merge duplicates and rank cases so likely threats rise to the top.
- Investigate and containA 24/7 NOC/SOC analyst validates the case and acts within your plan, for example isolating a device, disabling an account or blocking traffic.
- Report and improveYou receive a timeline of what happened and what changed. Lessons feed detection tuning, patching and your policies.
Log sources
What our SIEM watches
Coverage starts with the systems attackers go after first: your devices, your identities and your network edge. During onboarding we confirm exactly which sources are connected for your organization and write it down.
| Source | Examples of events | Helps catch |
|---|---|---|
| Endpoints and servers | Managed workstations, laptops and servers: process activity, security tool alerts, new services and changes to local administrators | Ransomware staging, malicious scripts, persistence after a phishing click |
| Microsoft 365 and Entra ID sign-ins | Sign-in events, multi-factor authentication (MFA) prompts, mailbox rule changes, new app consents and admin role changes | Stolen passwords, impossible travel, MFA fatigue, inbox rules that hide fraud |
| Network devices BTI manages | Firewall, VPN and other network and security device events | Scanning, connections to known-bad destinations, remote access from unexpected places |
| Other devices, where integrated | Selected syslog, telemetry and authentication events from devices that cannot run an agent | Unusual access to phones, printers and other connected equipment |
| Physical security, where integrated | Selected access control and video events, such as a forced door, a tampered camera or an offline recorder | A combined physical and digital incident, such as a door event followed by a network login |
Phones, cameras, door controllers and sensors do not run security agents. They are protected through network segmentation, firewall policy and device management; see IoT and OT security and converged cyber and physical security.
Autonomous SOC
AI-assisted triage, with people in charge
An autonomous SOC is not a SOC without people. It is one where software handles the sorting and enrichment that used to swallow an analyst's shift, so trained eyes reach real threats sooner.
What the automation does
- Adds user, device, location and history to each alert
- Groups related events into one case
- Filters out known harmless activity
- Ranks cases by likely risk
- Drafts the case notes analysts build on
What our analysts do
- Confirm whether a case is a real threat
- Trace how far it reaches and what is at risk
- Take the containment steps your plan allows
- Call your contacts when a decision is needed
- Document the timeline and what changed
What you control
- Which actions are pre-approved, such as isolating a device or disabling an account
- Who gets called, and in what order
- Which decisions always come back to you
- How often you review results with BTI
Reporting and evidence
Compliance reporting and evidence you can hand over
A SIEM is also your record of what happened. When an insurer, auditor or customer security review asks for proof, the logs and incident write-ups are already there.
What you can show
- Log history: optional 1-year log retention supports investigations, audits and insurer requests for evidence.
- Incident write-ups: a timeline of each confirmed incident, the actions taken and what changed afterward.
- Monitoring evidence: records that your environment is watched 24/7, for questionnaires and renewals.
How it ties into your program
- Every managed security client gets a written incident response plan and WISP; see WISP, IR plans and GRC.
- Control mapping and audit preparation run through compliance management.
- Carrier questionnaires are covered in cyber insurance readiness. BTI does not sell insurance and cannot promise coverage or pricing.
Part of your security program
How managed SIEM fits with MDR, network security and the rest
Managed SIEM sits in step 3 of BTI's six-step cybersecurity program, detect and respond. It works best alongside these services.
| Service | How it works with managed SIEM |
|---|---|
| 24/7 MDR and incident response | Monitored endpoint detection and response plus incident response, included for managed security clients as defined in your service agreement. The SIEM adds identity, network and other log sources to the same 24/7 NOC/SOC. |
| Network security and SASE | Firewalls, segmentation and secure remote access. Events from the network devices BTI manages flow into the SIEM, and blocking traffic at the firewall is one of the containment steps. |
| Managed patching and vulnerability management | Closes the known holes that SIEM alerts often point to, and reduces how many alerts there are in the first place. |
| Free cybersecurity assessment | A credential-free penetration test that shows, among other things, whether anyone is alerted while the test runs. A common starting point before adding a SIEM. |
| vCISO and cybersecurity consulting | A virtual chief information security officer reviews SIEM results with leadership, runs tabletop exercises and keeps the plan current. |
| Endpoint protection and identity, MFA and devices | Hardened devices and identities produce cleaner, more useful signals for the SIEM to work with. |

Questions
Managed SIEM and autonomous SOC FAQs
What is managed SIEM?
Managed SIEM is a service where a provider runs the SIEM for you: connecting log sources, tuning detection rules, watching alerts 24/7 and responding. At BTI, the SIEM collects events from endpoints and servers, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID sign-ins, and the network devices BTI manages, and our 24/7 NOC/SOC works the alerts.
What is an autonomous SOC, and does AI make the decisions?
An autonomous SOC uses automation for the first pass on every alert: adding context, grouping related events and ranking cases by risk. At BTI, analysts in our 24/7 NOC/SOC confirm each case and decide what to do, and containment stays within the steps you pre-approve in your incident response plan.
Which logs does BTI's managed SIEM collect?
Events from managed endpoints and servers, Microsoft 365 and Entra ID sign-ins, and the network devices BTI manages. Where integrated, selected events from other devices and from access control and video systems can be added. The connected sources for your organization are confirmed and documented during onboarding.
How long are logs kept?
BTI offers optional 1-year log retention. Retained logs support investigations, audits and insurer requests for evidence. Retention is chosen and priced as its own line item.
Do we need a SIEM if we already have EDR or MDR?
EDR protects individual devices. A SIEM connects what happens across devices, identities and the network, which is where many attacks show up, such as a stolen password used from another country. BTI's MDR combines monitored EDR, the 24/7 NOC/SOC and managed SIEM.
What happens when a real threat is found?
An analyst confirms the threat, works out its reach and takes the pre-approved actions in your incident response plan, such as isolating a device, disabling an account or blocking traffic. For managed security clients, incident response is included in BTI managed security, as defined in your service agreement, and you receive a documented timeline.
Can managed SIEM help with audits and cyber insurance?
Yes. Retained logs, incident timelines and monitoring records give auditors, insurers and customer security reviews evidence instead of promises. BTI works with your carrier's requirements but does not sell insurance and cannot promise coverage, pricing or claim outcomes.
We have an internal IT team. Can we use BTI as a SOC as a service?
Yes. With co-managed support, your team keeps day-to-day control while BTI supplies the SIEM and the 24/7 NOC/SOC. The split of responsibilities and who gets called for what are written down.
How is managed SIEM priced?
Pricing is itemized. You choose the coverage and SIEM retention you need, priced line by line as part of BTI managed services. A free consultation is the fastest way to get numbers for your environment.
Do you provide on-site help during an incident?
For managed security clients, BTI staff respond on site in Los Angeles and Southern California, Chicagoland and Phoenix when an incident calls for it. Elsewhere in the U.S., BTI coordinates on-site help through partners. Remote response is available wherever BTI supports you.
