Every new job needs cameras, gate access, phones and connectivity on day one, and every closeout means pulling it back out. Most contractors juggle a different vendor for each piece, and the costs land on job budgets nobody can see clearly. BTI gives general contractors, heavy-civil firms, specialty trades and engineering firms one accountable partner for site security systems, mobile operations and communications, and low-voltage technology on tenant improvement and remodel projects, backed by managed IT, cybersecurity and governed AI.
BTI has supported construction companies for years, from specialty trade contractors to heavy-civil equipment yards. We started in business phones in 1985, added IT in 1996 and security systems in the 2000s, and today we connect governed AI to the systems our clients already run.

Job site and equipment yard cameras, gate access control, license plate recognition at site entrances, intrusion alarms and 24/7 remote video monitoring with AI analytics that cut false alarms. For TI and remodel projects, BTI installs cameras, access control and intercoms as the GC's low-voltage subcontractor. → Construction site security systems
Keep supers, PMs and field crews reachable wherever the work is: mobile calling on one business number, ring groups by project, trailer and field office phones with correct 911 location, Microsoft Teams calling and AI call handling for after-hours and overflow calls. → Construction mobile operations and communications
Managed or co-managed IT for the main office, yards and project offices, plus structured cabling, switching and Wi-Fi for TI projects. → Construction IT services
Stop fake payment change requests, harden field logins, prepare for ransomware and answer cyber insurance questionnaires. → Construction cybersecurity
AI that drafts RFIs, daily logs and bid summaries, and video analytics that watch your sites, connected to the systems you already own. → AI for construction companies
General contractors bring BTI in as the low-voltage and technology subcontractor on TI and remodel projects. One sub covers structured cabling (copper and fiber, racks, pathways, labeling and testing), network switching and firewalls, Wi-Fi (BTI designs and validates Wi-Fi with Ekahau), access control, security cameras, intercoms and phones.
How we work with the GC:
Design fees are often waived when BTI handles procurement and installation. Example: BTI delivered network and security infrastructure for a Southern California school district project as the technology subcontractor to the GC.
"The entire team at BTI has exceeded my expectations. They took my company to the technology and security level I needed." Dave Tourje, Alpha Structural, Inc.
"Before contacting BTI we didn't have constant tech support, we were experiencing server issues, internet domain issues, email issues, and a lot of IT-related questions that needed to be addressed." Patrick Fiedler, General Manager, Crown Fence
Construction clients include a structural and foundation contractor, a California fence contractor and fabricator, a glazing contractor with locations in Los Angeles and Phoenix, a civil engineering firm and a heavy-civil contractor's equipment yard: Alpha Structural, Crown Fence, Giroux Glass, Lee & Ro and Kiewit Infrastructure.
General and heavy-civil contractors, specialty trade contractors (structural and foundation, glazing, fencing, concrete and formwork), civil engineering firms, and equipment yards and laydown areas. Offices in Los Angeles (Santa Fe Springs), Chicago (Downers Grove) and Phoenix, with projects across the Southwest and Midwest.
Contractors are moving past experiments. In a 2026 survey of more than 1,000 commercial specialty contractors, 38% reported measurable business impact from AI, up from 17% a year earlier, with cost estimating (24%) and bid management (22%) among the top uses (ServiceTitan, March 2026). On the jobsite, a Kiewit subsidiary published results from an 18-camera AI safety monitoring pilot at a fabrication yard: a 91.7% accuracy rate, with site-specific customization cutting false positives by 99% (Kiewit newsroom, April 2025; a third-party system, not a BTI project). The lesson for everyone else: AI pays off when it is tuned to your sites and tied to your workflows.
Most of the software contractors already pay for now sells AI on top: per-seat add-ons, usage credits, tokens or per-action fees. Some of those features are useful. The problem for mid-sized firms is that the bill often arrives before anyone has mapped the feature to a real workflow, usage charges are hard to forecast on job budgets, and crews never get trained to use them. Gartner predicts that over 40% of agentic AI projects will be canceled by the end of 2027 because of escalating costs, unclear business value or inadequate risk controls (Gartner). Meanwhile, the largest companies have whole AI teams; employers cited AI in 54,836 announced U.S. job cuts in 2025 (Challenger, Gray & Christmas). Mid-sized contractors need the same leverage without the enterprise price tag. Buying AI one SaaS product at a time also stacks license fees and renewal increases on every tool, leaves the upgrade path to each vendor, and leaves you owning nothing when the subscription ends.
BTI is your Guided Automation Partner. We close the gap between the AI your team sees and the AI virtual workforce it doesn't: the automation that watches sites, answers calls, drafts paperwork and keeps systems running and secure.
Wherever you are on AI:
Axis (BTI is an Axis Gold Partner), Bosch video, YourSix cloud video, Milestone, and Brivo access control: BTI designs, sells, installs, supports and takes over existing Brivo accounts, so you can switch integrators without replacing hardware or re-enrolling users. Cloud phones with Microsoft Teams calling.

Yes. GCs hire BTI for structured cabling, network, Wi-Fi, access control, cameras, intercoms and phones on tenant improvement and remodel projects, including submittals, inspections, as-builts and closeout handover.
Design fees are often waived when BTI handles procurement and installation. We confirm this in writing with your quote.
Often, yes. We plan the deployment so cameras, access hardware, phones and network gear can be pulled at closeout and redeployed, and we track what moves where.
BTI connects governed AI to the systems you already own, such as cameras, phones and office software, and writes custom video analytics for your sites. Guided Automation advisory is included in managed IT plans, and governed AI clients often pay no separate AI license fee.
