Houses of worship and community nonprofits want open doors and safe people at the same time. BTI designs, installs and supports church security systems that respect both: cameras that see clearly in sanctuaries and parking lots, access control that unlocks for services and locks for everything else, one-button lockdown, and tools that help volunteer safety teams act fast.

Every church and nonprofit sets its own balance between welcome and security. BTI starts with your people, schedule and building: when doors need to be open, who needs access when, where children gather, and who responds when something goes wrong. CISA's guidance for houses of worship follows the same idea of layered, practical protection (CISA Protecting Houses of Worship).
Example: The Moody Church, Chicago. The historic church, built for 3,395 people, replaced a failing analog system with high-definition Axis dome cameras and Milestone video management. BTI installed every cable with care for the building's Romanesque and Byzantine architecture. → Watch The Moody Church success story · Historic church technology upgrades
Door schedules that follow your service times, mobile credentials for staff and volunteers, and one-button lockdown from the office, a phone or a panic button. Example: BTI installed Brivo across a multi-building faith-based campus so staff can add and remove access for volunteers and contractors instantly, with detailed logs. BTI designs, sells, installs, supports and takes over existing Brivo accounts, so you can switch integrators without replacing hardware or re-enrolling users. → Access control solutions · Brivo access control
Secured wings that only open to checked-in parents and approved volunteers, cameras at every entry and hallway, and intercoms at locked doors. → Axis network intercoms
Volunteer safety teams need to see, talk and act. BTI gives them live camera views on phones, intercoms at doors, panic buttons, and paging and mass notification to announce a lockdown building-wide. → Paging and mass notification · Church communications
Lot cameras, lighting triggers and, where your policy allows, license plate recognition at entrances to help identify vehicles tied to incidents.
Every BTI security project starts with a site walk: entrances, sight lines, lighting, doors, existing cabling and how your building is actually used on a weekday versus a service day. You get an itemized quote that ties each camera, door and intercom to a specific risk, with 100% financing available and phased options for tight budgets. Many organizations first complete CISA's free Houses of Worship Security Self-Assessment, which CISA notes also applies to other nonprofits. BTI can use your results as the starting point for the walkthrough.

Intrusion alarms, video verification and after-hours monitoring for buildings that sit empty most of the week. BTI's SOC 2 audited NOC/SOC partner uses automation to triage alerts: 10,000+ alerts handled, zero missed.
Cameras and door controllers live on your network. BTI segments them, updates firmware and manages passwords so a security device never becomes the way into donor records. → Nonprofit cybersecurity
AI video analytics turn cameras into an extra set of eyes: alerts for people in the building after hours, vehicles lingering in the lot, someone at a locked children's wing door, or a door propped open. BTI writes custom analytics for your building and connects alerts to your safety team's phones and your lockdown workflow, so the right volunteer sees the right clip in seconds. Facial recognition is used only where your policy and applicable law allow it. As your Guided Automation Partner, BTI governs this AI under a written policy aligned with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, on the cameras you already own, without adding a per-camera AI subscription. → AI for nonprofits and churches · Video analytics
The biggest decision in a security system usually isn't the camera brand. It's whether you run an owned platform, hosted on premises or in a private cloud, or a cloud-managed platform that the vendor hosts and runs for you. BTI sells, installs and supports both: owned platforms such as Axis Camera Station, Milestone XProtect, exacqVision, Kantech EntraPass, RS2 Technologies and Software House C•CURE 9000, and cloud-managed options including YourSix and Brivo cloud video. We recommend the fit; we don't have a stake in the answer.
Cloud-managed platforms are a real convenience. You get a working solution out of the box, then customize it within the options the vendor provides. For a small satellite site or ministry office with no IT staff, that can be the right call.
Owned platforms usually deliver more long-term value. You own the software and the data, and BTI can quickly customize the system: custom video analytics, integrations with access control, check-in, phones and facilities requests, and AI on your terms. The trade-off is that an owned system has to be cybersecured and maintained, which is what co-management with BTI covers.
The IT objection, head on. Many IT teams ask for cloud-only security because past integrators did a poor job managing on-premises systems: unpatched servers, default passwords, no monitoring. That's a fair complaint about how those systems were managed, not about owning them. BTI co-manages owned platforms with your IT team, covering patching, hardening, monitoring and 24/7 support, with our SOC 2 audited NOC/SOC partner.
Which fits you?
Not sure? BTI will lay out both options with a multi-year cost comparison for your sites.

Nonprofit & Faith-Based: Overview · Communications
It depends on the number of entrances and cameras, the access control doors, existing cabling, monitoring and whether the building is historic. BTI provides an itemized quote after a walkthrough, and 100% financing is available.
Approved team members can view live and recorded video on their phones with permissions you set, and receive alerts and lockdown notifications.
Yes. Lockdown can be triggered from the office, a panic button or an approved phone, and paging can announce it building-wide.
Yes. BTI plans cable paths and discreet camera placement to protect historic features, as we did at The Moody Church in Chicago.
AI analytics can alert on people or vehicles in defined areas and times, such as the lot after hours, and send the clip to your safety team. People decide how to respond.
It depends on your sites. Cloud-managed platforms are convenient and work out of the box, which suits a small satellite site or ministry office with no IT staff. Owned platforms, on premises or in a private cloud, give you control, your own data and fast customization, including AI analytics with minimal license fees. If the push for cloud-only comes from past integrators who didn't patch or monitor on-premises systems, BTI co-management (patching, hardening, monitoring and 24/7 support) addresses that. BTI sells and supports both and recommends the fit.
