BTI Communications Group does a solid job. From the proposal process straight through to job completion and subsequent support, everyone does exactly what they say they will. We had a solution installed at one location as a test of sorts. Based on the success of that, we are now getting ready to install at a third location.

Network cable bundles run from the ceiling into a network closet during a BTI structured cabling install

Ethernet and Structured Cabling: The Foundation Every System Runs On

Your network, phones, Wi-Fi, cameras, door access and paging all ride on the same cabling. BTI plans it as one project: we design the drops and closets, pull and terminate Cat6, Cat6A and fiber, label and test every link, then install the equipment that runs on it.

You get one itemized quote, one schedule and documentation your team can use for years, from a company with over 40 years in business and offices in Los Angeles, Chicagoland and Phoenix.

Why businesses call us

When It Is Time for New Network Cabling

Most network installation projects start with a change in the building or the business. If one of these sounds like you, a site walk is the right first step.

  • You are moving or opening a new space

A new office, suite or expansion location needs cable drops, a network closet, Wi-Fi and internet before the first day of business. See office relocation and expansion IT.

  • You are building out a warehouse or plant

High ceilings, long runs, racking and loading docks call for fiber between closets, copper to the edge and access points placed for the space, not guessed.

  • You are adding sites

Branches, clinics, stores or depots should be wired the same way every time. See multi-location IT rollouts.

  • The old cabling is holding you back

Dropped calls, slow links, unlabeled patch panels and a closet nobody can trace usually mean the cabling, not the internet, is the problem.

  • You are adding cameras, doors, phones or Wi-Fi

Every new device needs a drop, a switch port and often PoE power. Planning them together avoids paying twice for the same ceiling work.

  • You are upgrading the network

New switches, firewalls or Wi-Fi work best on cabling that is tested and documented. See network, Wi-Fi and firewall upgrades.

Scope

What a BTI Network Installation Includes

One team designs, installs, tests and documents the physical network, then sets up the equipment that runs on it. Every item below appears on your itemized quote, so you can see exactly what you are buying.

  • Cat6 and Cat6A cabling

Copper drops for desks, phones, access points, cameras and door controllers. Cat6A where you need 10 Gb links or higher-power PoE devices.

  • Fiber optic backbone

Fiber between closets, floors and buildings, terminated, tested and labeled. Single-mode or multimode chosen for the distance and the equipment.

  • Racks and network closets

Racks, cabinets, cable management and grounding laid out so the closet stays clean and easy to work in years from now.

  • Patch panels and patching

Terminations on patch panels and neat, color-coded patch cords from panel to switch, matched to the port map.

  • Labeling

Every drop is labeled at the jack and at the panel with the same ID used on your floor plan and test report.

  • Testing and certification

Each link is tested against the standard for its cable category. Pass results go into your closeout package, and any failure is fixed before we leave.

  • Wi-Fi survey and access points

BTI designs and validates Wi-Fi with Ekahau, then mounts and configures the access points. More on commercial Wi-Fi installation.

  • Switching

PoE switches sized for your access points, phones and cameras, with VLANs set up for each system. See Meraki switches; BTI is a Cisco Select Partner.

  • Firewall

A business firewall installed and configured with your internet circuits, VPN and network segments. See Meraki MX firewalls.

One cabling project, every system

What We Install on the Same Cabling Project

Structured cabling is the foundation for every low-voltage system in the building. When the same team plans the drops for all of them, you get one drawing, one schedule and one ceiling opened once.

Conference Room AV, Displays and Signage

Plan the AV on the same drawing as the cabling, so every screen, camera and speaker has its drop, power and network port before the walls close.

How it works

Our Network Installation Process

Six steps, the same on a single suite or a new distribution center.

  1. Site walk

An engineer walks the space with you: closets, pathways, ceilings, power, the devices you have and the ones you plan to add.

  2. Design

We mark every drop, closet, rack and access point on your floor plan, with cable types and the Wi-Fi design.

  3. Itemized quote

You get a quote that lists drops, fiber, racks, equipment and labor line by line. Financing is available at 3.99% for qualified buyers, subject to credit approval.

  4. Install

BTI technicians pull, terminate and dress the cable, build the closet, then mount and configure the equipment on a schedule set around your business.

  5. Test

Every link is tested and certified, Wi-Fi coverage is validated, and the systems on the network are checked end to end.

  6. Documentation

You receive as-built drawings, the label and port map, test results and equipment settings, so the next project starts from facts.

After go-live, keep your own IT team in charge and add BTI where you need us with co-managed IT support.

Bigger than a few drops?

Relocations, Expansion Locations and Multi-Site Rollouts

Cabling is usually one part of a larger move or rollout. These plans cover the whole project, with the network installation built in.

  • Office relocation

Cabling, closet, internet, Wi-Fi, phones and security for the new space, scheduled around your move date.

    Plan an office relocation
  • New site or expansion location

Opening another office, store, clinic or warehouse while the first one keeps running. The relocation plan covers expansion locations too.

    Open an expansion location
  • Multi-location rollout and network standardization

One written site standard for cabling, closets, Wi-Fi, switching and firewalls, built the same way at every location.

Standardize across your sites Network standardization
  • Network, Wi-Fi and firewall upgrade

Replace aging switches, access points and firewalls, and fix the cabling under them while the ceiling is open.

    Upgrade your network
  • Data center and server room

Racks, power, cooling checks, fiber and copper for a server room or closet that needs a rebuild.

FAQ

Network Installation Questions

What types of network cabling do you install?

BTI installs Cat6 and Cat6A copper cabling, single-mode and multimode fiber optic backbones, and the racks, patch panels and cable management that go with them. Every drop is labeled and tested, and the results are part of your closeout package.

Do you provide wireless network installation?

Yes. BTI designs and validates Wi-Fi with Ekahau, runs a tested drop to each access point, then mounts, configures and tunes the access points. See commercial Wi-Fi installation for more.

Should we choose Cat6 or Cat6A?

Cat6 fits most desks, phones and standard access points. Cat6A is the better choice for new Wi-Fi access points, higher-power PoE devices and links that need 10 Gb over longer runs. We recommend the right mix for each drop during the site walk.

How do you price a network installation?

After a free site walk, you get an itemized quote that lists drops, fiber, racks, equipment and labor line by line. Price depends on the number of drops, cable type, pathways, ceiling height and how many closets are involved. Financing is available at 3.99% for qualified buyers, subject to credit approval.

Do you test and certify every cable?

Yes. Each link is tested against the standard for its cable category, any failure is fixed before we leave, and the pass results are delivered with your as-built drawings and port map.

Can you install phones, cameras, access control and paging on the same project?

Yes. BTI installs business phones, video surveillance, access control, alarm and intrusion, network audio and paging, mass notification, in-building cellular signal boosting and conference room AV on the same cabling project, so every device has its drop, switch port and power planned from the start.

Do you handle office moves, new locations and multi-site rollouts?

Yes. Our relocation and expansion plan covers moves and new locations, and our multi-location rollout plan builds every site to one network standard. BTI does multi-location rollouts nationwide, managed from its offices in Los Angeles, Chicagoland and Phoenix.

What documentation do we get when the install is finished?

You receive as-built drawings, the label and port map, cable test results, and the settings for the switches, firewall and access points we installed.

Who supports the network after installation?

Your choice. Your own IT team can take it from the documentation, BTI can share the work with your team through co-managed IT, or BTI can run it fully as your managed IT provider with a 24/7 NOC/SOC.
