Schools need open, welcoming buildings that can also lock down in seconds. BTI designs, installs and supports integrated video, access control, alarms and emergency notification for K-12 schools, private schools and colleges, and we already support a number of education clients. Your security team, IT team and facilities team all work from one system.
BTI designs, installs and supports integrated campus security systems for K-12 districts, private schools and colleges: IP video with AI analytics, access control with one-click lockdown, panic and intrusion alerting, and visitor check-in, tied to your IT network so security, IT and facilities teams work from one system.
Cover entrances, parking lots, bus loops, hallways, athletic fields and residence halls with IP cameras and analytics. Analytics flag loitering, after-hours motion and vehicles in restricted zones, and you can search hours of footage in minutes. → Commercial security camera systems · Video analytics software
Use badge, mobile credential and scheduled door unlocks so front entrances stay controlled during the school day. Administrators can trigger a one-click lockdown from a phone or desktop. → Access control solutions
Intrusion detection, panic and duress buttons for front offices, and alerts that send live video to responders. → Commercial alarm system installation
Video, doors, alarms, visitor check-in and the IT network managed as one system, so an alarm opens the right camera automatically. → Security system integration · Converged security
Monitoring, firmware updates, camera health checks and maintenance after go-live, so a dead camera doesn’t wait until the next incident. → GlobalView physical security support
For districts with many small sites, cloud-managed video and access cut down on-site servers. BTI is an authorized YourSix partner and an authorized Bosch partner (IQSIGHT). BTI also designs, sells, installs and supports Brivo cloud access control, and takes over existing Brivo accounts, so you can switch integrators without replacing hardware or re-enrolling users. → YourSix cloud video · Bosch security systems · Brivo access control
The Challenges of School Campuses:
School security and facilities teams are often small and stretched across several buildings. Most campuses also run a mix of systems: different camera brands from different bond projects, keyed doors next to badge readers, and alarm panels nobody has the codes for.
BTI starts with a walk-through and an inventory. Then we build a phased plan that reuses working hardware and replaces what is creating risk.
Secure vestibules, visitor check-in and scheduled unlocks let you control who enters during instruction hours, while gyms, libraries and event spaces stay open on their own schedules. Staff use mobile credentials, so there are no lost keys to rekey.
When seconds matter, staff can start a lockdown from a panic button, desktop or phone. Responders can get live camera views of the affected area. The CISA school safety resources and SchoolSafety.gov describe layered physical security, and BTI’s designs follow that layered approach.
Colleges that take federal student aid must publish an annual security report, issue timely warnings and keep a crime log under the Clery Act (34 CFR 668.46). Searchable video, door event logs and alarm histories help your team document incidents accurately. Video showing students can also fall under FERPA in some cases. BTI configures role-based viewing, export logging and retention settings that match your district’s records policy. Your institution decides compliance; we supply the controls and the documentation.
Cameras and door controllers sit on your network, so BTI designs network segmentation, PoE power and bandwidth with your IT team. That prevents security devices from becoming a cyber weak point. BTI is ISO 27001 compliant, and our engineers work with district IT standards and change windows.
Schools see AI in classrooms and chat tools. They don’t see the AI virtual workforce working behind the scenes. BTI acts as your Guided Automation Partner and closes that gap, so the hidden automation keeps your campus running and secure.
AI video analytics for safety. Integrated, real-time video analytics flag loitering at entrances, people in restricted areas after hours, and vehicles in bus loops or fire lanes. License plate recognition (LPR), pattern detection and custom-tuned analytics are set to your campus and your policies. Thermal and radar extend detection to dark fields and perimeters. Behind it, BTI’s NOC/SOC uses automation to triage alerts: 10,000+ alerts handled, zero missed.
A governed AI use policy for staff. Teachers and administrators are already trying AI tools. BTI helps you set a written, enforceable policy covering which tools are approved, what data can go into them, and how outputs are reviewed. We use the NIST AI Risk Management Framework as a common reference.
Protecting student data in AI tools. Education records protected by FERPA shouldn’t be pasted into public AI tools. BTI can provide secure, district-controlled AI workspaces with access controls and logging, so staff get the productivity benefit without exposing student information. Facial recognition is enabled only where your policy and applicable law allow it.
Guided Automation advisory services are included in all BTI managed IT plans at no extra cost. AI tools such as secure chat workspaces and model access are optional add-ons. → AI services · AI for business leaders · AI security, governance & risk · Converged AI and technology · AI Opportunity Assessment

Most campuses need controlled entrances with visitor check-in, IP video at entrances and common areas, lockdown, panic buttons in front offices, and intrusion detection after hours. These work best when integrated.
We don't prepare your annual security report. Our systems give your team searchable video, door logs and alarm records that support accurate incident documentation under 34 CFR 668.46.
Sometimes. Video that is directly related to a student and kept by the school can be an education record. BTI configures role-based access, export logs and retention so you can follow your records policy. Ask your counsel for legal determinations.
Often, yes. We assess existing hardware and integrate or replace it in phases, aligned to your budget and bond cycles.
Yes. We schedule installs for after hours, weekends and breaks to avoid disrupting instruction.
Yes. Real-time analytics detect loitering, after-hours intrusion and vehicles in restricted lanes, then send verified alerts with video to staff, which cuts response time and false alarms.
Adopt a governed AI use policy and use secure, district-controlled AI workspaces instead of public tools. BTI helps set the policy, configure access controls and logging, and keep FERPA-protected records out of public models.
You get itemized monthly pricing, and 100% financing covers hardware, licensing and labor, so projects don't have to wait for a capital budget.
