Requirements

What Inland Empire industrial owners and tenants ask for

  • Perimeter gates and yards controlled from the same platform as the building.
  • Many exterior man doors locked and monitored, with alerts when one is propped or forced.
  • Multi-tenant industrial parks where each tenant manages its own staff and the owner controls shared gates.
  • Systems that move easily when a tenant leaves and a new one moves in.
  • Remote unlock and lockdown for sites with no one on site at night.
  • Exterior hardware rated for heat, wind and dust.

Recommended setup

Recommended access control setup

Industrial stock in the region runs from small flex units to large single tenant buildings with secured yards. The setup below adapts to both.

Perimeter gates

Vehicle and pedestrian gate readers, intercoms and plate recognition where needed.

Exterior doors

Door contacts and readers on man doors, with propped and forced door alerts.

Office entry

A reader and video intercom at the main entry for staff and visitors.

Tenant partitions

Partitioned platforms so each tenant manages its own users in a shared park.

Remote control

Remote unlock, scheduled hours and lockdown from a phone or browser.

Power and backup

Battery backup and heat rated enclosures for gates and exterior doors.

Video

Gate and door cameras tied to access events.

Perimeter gates and vehicle entry

Many Inland Empire industrial buildings sit inside a fenced yard with one or two vehicle gates. BTI puts gate operators, readers, intercoms and, where useful, plate recognition on the same platform as the building, so the owner or tenant sees every entry in one place.

Long runs to gates use fiber or wireless links, and gate hardware gets battery backup sized for the outages that come with summer heat and wind events.

Multi-tenant industrial parks

Industrial parks in Ontario, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga and Riverside often share gates and drive aisles while each tenant runs its own unit. BTI partitions the platform so the owner controls shared gates and common doors, and each tenant adds and removes its own staff without calling the property manager.

When a tenant moves out, its partition is closed and its badges stop working, and the next tenant starts clean.

Restricted rooms inside the plant

Inside the building, electrical rooms, server closets, chemical storage and parts cages each get their own access list. Door logs show who entered and when, which supports insurance reviews and internal investigations.
