As a Milestone Advanced Partner, BTI designs, licenses, installs and supports XProtect for Arizona organizations, from one camera room in Scottsdale to recording servers spread over Maricopa, Pinal and Pima counties. The Phoenix team scopes the system, builds it and remains your service contact afterward.

Arizona video projects tend to grow outward: another warehouse in Goodyear, a clinic in Chandler, a yard in Tucson. XProtect handles that growth well when the design starts right. This is how our team approaches it.

We count cameras per site, set frame rate and resolution per view, and size storage to the retention period your policy or insurer requires, so recording servers are neither starved nor oversized.
Express+, Professional+, Expert and Corporate differ in recording servers, failover and federation. We match the edition and device licenses to your site count today and to what you plan to add.

Recording servers, including Milestone Husky appliances where they fit, sit on a camera network kept apart from office traffic, with switch capacity and PoE budgets checked before install.
Axis and other open platform cameras connect through Milestone device packs, and analytics such as BriefCam can be layered on for faster video search.
Smart Client views, maps, alarm rules and user roles are built for each team, and XProtect Mobile is configured for managers who check video away from the building.
Many Valley sites run an XProtect system whose original installer has moved on or stopped answering. BTI can become your integrator on the system you already own. We collect the license file and Milestone Care status, document every recording server and camera, and correct the settings that are quietly costing you footage.

When an overseas chemical maker opened its first U.S. plant in Phoenix, it chose BTI to deliver the network, cameras, access control and managed support as one converged package, so the plant started up with a single team accountable for all of it.
A Valley recovery and mental health organization asked BTI for video coverage that would not expose records protected by 42 CFR Part 2. We wrote Part 2 obligations into the services agreement, kept cameras on an isolated network and limited who could view recordings.

Here is what changed in XProtect over the past few release cycles, and where it helps Phoenix and Tucson operators.
The newest release adds Sticky Notes for operators, new Server Logs and Permission Inheritance, plus Remote Manager health checks for systems on Milestone Care Plus.
Access control events can carry an alarm reason and notes that flow back to the access system, and Device Pack 14.1 covers more than 16,300 supported devices.
From 2025 R2 on, doors, readers, gates and turnstiles appear on the Smart Map, so a Valley operator can acknowledge an alarm and open a gate from the map.
Arizona sites that want an off-site copy can add the Arcules plug-in on Professional+, Expert or Corporate for cloud recording straight from cameras, longer cloud retention and backup of edge gateways.
XProtect Evidence Manager sends a secure link, so police or an insurer can watch a clip without a viewer license. Storage can be on premises, cloud or hybrid.
A Video Summarization plug-in, built on Milestone's Hafnia vision language model, describes the events in a clip right inside Smart Client.
What Arizona systems can use today:
Arizona clients often add doors, speakers and alarms to XProtect after the cameras. These are the connections our Phoenix engineers handle.
| Connects to | Result | Before we start |
|---|---|---|
| Brivo access control | Brivo door events and actions inside Smart Client via the Brivo Access Control Module | XProtect Access licenses and Express+ or higher |
| Axis cameras and horn speakers | Live talk down at remote yards and lots | Device pack support for each model |
| BriefCam analytics | Faster search of long recordings | Separate BriefCam licensing |
| Alarm panels | An alarm opens the right camera for the operator | Panel type checked on site |
Using Brivo at your doors? See our Phoenix Brivo page.
Beyond the main pairings, these devices and applications can join an Arizona XProtect system.
Arizona projects often cover far-apart sites and harsh summers. This is the order our Phoenix office works in.

Arizona buyers often weigh XProtect against a cloud recording service. Both can work; the right answer depends on bandwidth, retention and control room needs.
| Factor | XProtect on premises | Cloud VMS |
|---|---|---|
| Where video lives | Your recording servers | The provider's cloud |
| Long retention at many cameras | Storage you size and own | Depends on upload bandwidth and plan |
| Control room tools | Smart Client, Smart Wall and alarm rules | Usually a web interface |
| Rural Arizona sites | Records locally even with weak internet | Needs steady upstream bandwidth |
| Updates | Planned by your team or ours | Handled by the provider |
BTI supports both models, so we recommend whichever suits each site.
Arizona has a few rules and conditions that affect camera work. We flag them; your counsel and the local building department have the final word.
Arizona generally allows recording a conversation with one party's consent under ARS 13-3005, but we still enable camera audio only with your written approval and clear signage.
Cable paths, wall penetrations and pole bases follow whatever building code edition the city in question has adopted, and the AHJ has the final say.
Exterior cameras and housings are chosen for Arizona surface temperatures, and recorders go in rooms that stay within rated limits.

It depends on camera count, how many sites must be viewed together and whether you need failover recording. Professional+ suits many single-region businesses. Expert adds failover recording, and Corporate adds full Federated Architecture for large, multi-site networks.
Usually not. XProtect supports thousands of camera models through Milestone device packs, so working Axis and other ONVIF cameras can often stay. We test the models on site before quoting.
As long as your storage allows. We size recording servers to the number of days your policy, insurer or regulator asks for, and can add an archive tier so older footage moves to lower cost disks.
Yes. Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana, Sahuarita and the rest of Pima County are covered from Phoenix, along with Maricopa, Pinal and Gila counties.
Public buyers can use BTI's GSA contract, 47QTCA21D00BA, where the scope qualifies. Otherwise we quote through your agency's normal procurement.
Planned maintenance and upgrades run through the Phoenix office, urgent calls are taken by our round the clock support line, and optional health monitoring flags recording servers or cameras that drop offline.
XProtect suits sites with long retention, many cameras or a control room. Cloud recording suits smaller sites with steady bandwidth. We look at each Arizona site's upload speed and retention target before recommending.
Yes. When a Brivo or C-CURE 9000 system from Software House is connected through XProtect Access, doors sit on the Smart Map, alarms show up with the camera view, and an operator's reason and note sync back to the access system.
Cameras rated for high temperatures, with proper housings and shade, hold up well. We check the rated range for every exterior model.
Not anymore. Milestone dropped its no-cost entry edition in XProtect 2025 R2. Arizona sites on it can upgrade to Express+ or Professional+ and keep their working cameras.
It can. On Professional+, Expert or Corporate, the Arcules plug-in adds cloud recording and backup alongside the recording servers at your Phoenix or Tucson site.
Evidence Manager. It sends a secure link, and the people receiving it need no software install and no license.

In a free consultation, our Phoenix engineers review your cameras and any existing XProtect license, then send a written design and scope.
