Every camera is placed on a plan before anything is mounted

Most camera complaints trace back to design: a lens too wide to read a plate at the gate, a dock camera blinded by headlights, a yard with no coverage between trailer rows. We start every Inland Empire project with a site design that places each camera on your floor plan or an aerial image, with its lens, field of view and detection distance modeled.

You see the coverage map, the camera list and the recording plan before you approve anything. That is also the document your insurer, landlord or auditor can review.

  • Pixel density planned for identification at entries and gates and overview across yards
  • Glare, headlights and night conditions checked for every exterior view
  • Retention set by camera, so storage matches your policy
  • Pole, wall and roof mounts, cable paths and lift needs priced up front

Camera systems for Inland Empire sites

Warehouses and distribution centers

A camera on every dock door, overview cameras across the yard, gate and guard shack coverage with plate recognition, and views of cages and high value storage. Video tied to door and gate events speeds up claims and investigations.

Truck yards and trailer parking

Multisensor cameras on poles cover wide yards with fewer mounts, and analytics flag people or vehicles in the yard after hours.

Manufacturing plants

Production floors, shipping and receiving, chemical storage and restricted rooms in Corona, Riverside, Chino and Ontario, with retention and footage access set to match customer requirements.

Public agencies and water sites

City buildings, yards, pump stations and remote sites, with NDAA compliant hardware and purchasing through GSA, CMAS or TESMA contracts. Water organizations in the region that work with BTI include Western Municipal Water District and Fontana Water Company.

Offices and business parks

Lobby, parking and perimeter coverage for offices in Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside and Temecula, with video tied to the badge readers at each entry.

Medical groups

Waiting rooms, entries, medication storage and parking, with privacy zones that keep exam areas out of view.

Choosing the right camera for each area

One camera model rarely fits a whole site. This is how we usually match cameras to the places Inland Empire businesses need to watch.

Camera and video platforms we install in the Inland Empire

We choose the platform per site, not per vendor. Many Inland Empire buildings already have cameras on the wall, and we keep the ones that still perform.

Analytics, plate recognition and talk down

Modern cameras do more than record. We set up the analytics each site needs and tune them so alerts stay useful instead of noisy.

  • Person and vehicle detection on fence lines, yards and after hours parking
  • Forensic search by object type, color, direction and time
  • License plate recognition at gates, guard shacks and yard entries
  • Horn speakers and live or recorded talk down to warn people off a site
  • Line crossing and loitering alerts sent to a phone or a monitoring center
  • AI added to existing cameras where the hardware supports it

Want help after hours? 24/7 system health and alert monitoring available, plus a 24/7 converged security NOC/SOC. See Axis audio and talk down and Axis radar.

After hours activity, trespass and arson risk

Vacant lots, pallet stacks and trailer yards draw trespassers after dark, and fires set at or near commercial property are a real worry for Inland Empire owners and their insurers. Cameras cannot stop every incident, but a design that detects people early, warns them off and records clear evidence reduces the risk.

  • Analytics or radar on fence lines and yard edges, so alerts fire before someone reaches the building
  • Talk down speakers that let a monitoring operator or your team warn people off in real time
  • Lighting checks so night video shows faces, clothing and vehicles
  • Coverage of pallet, trash and storage areas against exterior walls
  • Footage exports your insurer and local police can use

The network and cybersecurity most camera installers skip

Cameras are computers on your network. A camera system with default passwords and open ports is a way into the rest of the business. Because BTI is also an IT and cybersecurity provider, we design camera networks the way your IT team would.

  • Cameras on their own VLAN, separated from office computers
  • Unique credentials, current firmware and no open inbound ports
  • PoE switches and outdoor enclosures sized for the cameras, the heat and future growth
  • Wireless or fiber links to poles, gates and guard shacks where trenching is not practical
  • Health monitoring so a dead camera is found before you need its footage

Need more than cameras? See managed IT in the Inland Empire and BTI cybersecurity services.

California rules for business video

Audio needs care

California Penal Code 632 restricts recording confidential conversations without consent. We leave audio recording off by default and use speakers for talk down instead of microphones where privacy is a concern.

Places cameras cannot go

California Labor Code 435 bars employers from recording in restrooms, locker rooms and changing rooms. Privacy masks keep other sensitive areas out of view.

Retention and access

We set how long footage is kept, who can export it and how exports are logged, so you can show how video is controlled.

NDAA compliant hardware

Government buyers and federal contractors can choose cameras and recorders that meet Section 889 of the NDAA.

Licensed installers

BTI is a Licensed Alarm Company Operator, ACO #7670, with C-7 License 807767, and our team passes LiveScan background checks.

Public sector contracts

GSA contract holder (47QTCA21D00BA) and CMAS and TESMA contract awardee (California).

How an Inland Empire camera project runs

  1. Free site assessment. We walk the building and yard with you, with day and night conditions in mind.
  2. Site design. Coverage maps, camera list, retention and network plan for your approval.
  3. Written proposal. Every camera, license, mount and labor item listed.
  4. Installation. Crews and lifts from Santa Fe Springs install and aim each camera, scheduled around your shifts and trucks.
  5. Tuning and training. Analytics, alerts and user access are set up and your team learns search and export.
  6. Support. Health monitoring, repairs and upgrades from the same team.

Financing at 3.99% is available for qualified buyers, subject to credit approval.

Upgrading an older camera system

Many Inland Empire buildings still run analog or early IP cameras on an aging recorder. A full rip and replace is rarely needed.

  • Replace the recorder first and keep IP cameras that still meet image and security standards
  • Use encoders to bring working analog cameras onto a new platform during a phased upgrade
  • Reuse existing cable where testing shows it can carry PoE
  • Upgrade the gates, docks and entries first, where image quality matters most
  • Move to cloud or hybrid video when sites have no IT staff to manage servers

Proof from the region

Water organizations in the region that work with BTI include Western Municipal Water District and Fontana Water Company. At a public retirement association in San Bernardino County, BTI took over the existing Brivo account from the prior vendor and is bringing Brivo access control, Milestone video and Alarm.com intrusion onto one platform, with mobile access and managed access control. BTI also designs and installs cameras for warehouse and distribution buildings, where docks, yards and gates need coverage around the clock.

Inland Empire security cameras: questions we hear

Who installs commercial security camera systems in the Inland Empire?

BTI Communications Group, LTD. designs, installs and supports commercial IP camera systems for Inland Empire businesses and public agencies from its Santa Fe Springs office. We are an Authorized and Certified Axis Gold Partner and hold California ACO #7670 and C-7 License 807767.

Is BTI local to the Inland Empire?

We do not have an Inland Empire office. Our Southern California office and warehouse are in Santa Fe Springs, about 26 miles from Ontario and 39 miles from Riverside in a straight line. Call 562-298-5070.

What cameras does a warehouse or distribution center need?

Usually a camera at each dock door, overview cameras along the dock wall and across the yard, plate recognition at the gate, and cameras on cages, entries and parking. The site design shows exactly where each one goes.

Do you install license plate recognition at gates and truck yards?

Yes. We install license plate recognition at gates, guard shacks and yard entries, and connect reads to alerts and search in your video platform.

Can cameras help with trespass and arson risk?

They help. Analytics or radar detect people early, talk down speakers warn them off and clear night video supports police and insurance claims. No camera system prevents every incident.

Can you keep our existing cameras?

Usually some of them. We test each camera for image quality, firmware support and security, keep the ones that pass and replace failed or unsupported units.

Cloud or on premises video: which is better for us?

Cloud video suits offices and smaller sites with no IT staff on site. On premises recorders suit distribution buildings and plants with many cameras and long retention. Hybrid options keep video local and manage it in the cloud.

Can we record audio on our business cameras in California?

Be careful. California Penal Code 632 restricts recording confidential conversations without consent. We leave audio recording off by default and help you decide where signage and consent make it appropriate.

Do you offer NDAA compliant cameras?

Yes. Government agencies, water organizations and federal contractors can choose camera and recorder models that meet Section 889 of the NDAA.

How is a camera project quoted?

After a free site assessment and site design, we send a written proposal with every camera, license and labor item listed. Financing at 3.99% is available for qualified buyers, subject to credit approval.

Who watches the cameras after hours?

24/7 system health and alert monitoring available, plus a 24/7 converged security NOC/SOC. We size the plan with you during the consultation.

Do you serve the High Desert and Coachella Valley?

Yes. Those sites are farther from our office, so on site work is planned as scheduled service days, and we choose cameras and enclosures rated for desert heat and dust.
