BTI Communications Group, LTD. is a commercial security integrator with offices in Santa Fe Springs, Downers Grove and Phoenix, in business for over 40 years. We install access control for industrial sites: perimeter gates, shift entries, turnstiles, tool cribs, electrical and OT rooms, on Kantech, RS2 (Acre), Avigilon, Brivo or Axis hardware.

Requirements
Recommended setup
Industrial designs start at the fence line and work inward to the most restricted rooms.
Perimeter gates, main and shift entries, turnstiles, docks, production areas, OT and electrical rooms, offices.
Cards that survive gloves and grime, mobile credentials for office staff, and temporary contractor badges.
Weather and vandal rated readers on pedestals at gates, with long-range readers for vehicle lanes.
Heavy duty electrified locks, gate operators interfaced to the controller, and turnstiles at shift entries.
Guard shack or kiosk check-in with safety acknowledgment before a badge is printed.
Axis or Avigilon cameras on gates and restricted doors so every exception has video.
HR and contractor rosters, muster reporting and segmentation from the OT network.
On an industrial site, the first access decision happens at the gate. BTI interfaces vehicle gates and pedestrian gates to the access control system so employees badge in, visitors are released by the guard shack or by intercom, and carriers are directed to the dock lane. Long-range readers or license plate recognition can open employee lanes without stopping traffic.
Every gate event is recorded with video, so a vehicle that tailgates through the gate is easy to find later. Gates also follow schedules, holiday calendars and emergency override rules set by your safety team.

Inside the building, BTI restricts the rooms where a wrong entry creates a safety or production risk: electrical and switchgear rooms, OT and PLC rooms, chemical storage, tool cribs and high-value parts cages. Access is granted by role and training, so only qualified people open those doors, and a forced or propped door alerts a supervisor.
Camera and access networks are kept on their own segment, separated from production OT networks and office IT, which reduces the chance that a door controller becomes a path into plant systems.

Industrial sites see a steady flow of contractors and temporary workers. BTI sets contractor badges to expire with the job, ties them to a sponsor and limits them to the areas in the work order. During an evacuation, the system's muster report shows who badged in and has not yet reached an assembly point, which helps safety teams account for everyone.
Platforms
BTI is platform agnostic and recommends the platform after the survey. HID readers and mobile credentials work across most of them. Not sure which fits? Read the commercial access control guide.
Cloud access control. BTI designs, sells, installs, supports and takes over existing Brivo accounts. Eagle Eye cloud video is part of Brivo.
Brivo access controlCloud managed doors with touchless mobile entry and remote unlock.
Avigilon Alta access controlOn-premises access control that runs alongside Avigilon video on servers you own.
Avigilon Unity access controlEntraPass software and KT controllers for owned, scalable systems.
Kantech access controlAccess It! software for larger, multi-site estates that want an owned platform.
RS2 access controlAxis door controllers, readers and network intercoms that tie straight into Axis video.
Axis access controlInstallation
Plant work is scheduled around production so lines keep running.
Industrial access control is scoped from a walk of the fence line and building. Gate count, distance and trenching for cabling, outdoor rated hardware, turnstiles, the platform and the number of restricted rooms drive the proposal. BTI itemizes each line after a free survey.

Yes. BTI interfaces gate operators to the access control system so employee lanes open on a badge, long-range read or license plate, and visitor and carrier lanes are released by a guard or intercom.
Contractor badges are tied to a sponsor, limited to the areas in the work order and set to expire automatically when the job ends.
Yes. Muster reporting lists who badged in and has not yet checked in at an assembly point, so safety teams can account for people quickly.
BTI specifies weather and vandal rated readers, enclosures and pedestals for gates and outdoor doors, and cards that work with gloves on.
It depends on gates, cable distances, outdoor hardware, turnstiles, restricted rooms and platform licensing. BTI provides an itemized proposal after a free site survey.
