Most camera complaints trace back to design: a lens too wide to identify a face at the door, a parking lot camera blinded by headlights, a loading dock with a blind spot between doors. We start every DuPage County project with a site walk and a written design.
You see the coverage map, the camera list and the recording plan before you approve anything. That is also the document your insurer, landlord or auditor can review.

Lobbies, parking structures, perimeter and loading areas for headquarters and office parks in Oak Brook, Downers Grove, Lisle, Naperville and Itasca, with video tied to the badge reader at each entry.
Common area, garage and elevator lobby coverage that property managers can share with tenants and security staff, with access by role.
Production floors, dock doors, shipping and receiving and restricted rooms for plants and warehouses in Addison, Itasca, Wood Dale, Bensenville and Carol Stream.
Waiting rooms, entries, medication storage and parking, with privacy zones that keep exam areas out of view.
Entries, hallways, parking lots and public buildings for districts, villages and park districts, with NDAA compliant hardware and purchasing through GSA or cooperative contracts.
Lots, service drives and showrooms where inventory sits outside overnight. BTI has installed Axis cameras for a Chicagoland Ford dealership.

One camera model rarely fits a whole site. This is how we usually match cameras to the places DuPage County organizations need to watch.
| Area | Goal | Typical camera |
|---|---|---|
| Main entries and lobbies | Identify every person who enters | Fixed dome or bullet with a narrow field of view at face height |
| Parking lots and garages | See activity across a wide area | Multisensor or panoramic camera on a pole, roof edge or garage ceiling |
| Lot and garage entries | Capture every vehicle and plate | License plate recognition camera with its own lighting, plus an overview camera |
| Loading docks | Watch every delivery and shipment | A bullet camera at each dock door plus an overview along the dock wall |
| Perimeters | Detect people before they reach the building | Analytics camera or radar with talk down speakers |
| Server rooms and storage | Record who touched what | Small dome tied to the door reader |
Every placement is confirmed in the site design before installation.
We choose the platform per site, not per vendor. Many DuPage County buildings already have cameras on the wall, and we keep the ones that still perform.
| Platform | Good fit | Learn more |
|---|---|---|
| Axis | Cameras, multisensors, audio and radar from an Authorized and Certified Axis Gold Partner. | Axis cameras |
| Avigilon Unity | On premises video and analytics for plants, distribution buildings, campuses and multi-building sites. | Avigilon Unity video |
| Avigilon Alta | Cloud video for offices and smaller sites that want no on site server. | Avigilon Alta video |
| exacqVision | Flexible recorders and VMS that run with many camera brands. | exacqVision |
| Milestone XProtect | Open VMS for large and complex systems. | Milestone XProtect |
| OpenEye | Hybrid cloud video for multi-site businesses. | OpenEye |
| Cisco Meraki MV | Cloud managed smart cameras from a Cisco Meraki partner, managed with your Meraki network. | Cisco Meraki MV cameras |
| Brivo Eagle Eye | Cloud video that is part of Brivo, managed beside your Brivo doors. | Brivo |
Modern cameras do more than record. We set up the analytics each site needs and tune them so alerts stay useful instead of noisy.

Cameras are computers on your network. A camera system with default passwords and open ports is a way into the rest of the business. Because BTI is also an IT and cybersecurity provider, we design camera networks the way your IT team would.

The Illinois Eavesdropping Act (720 ILCS 5/14) restricts recording private conversations without the consent of all parties. We leave audio recording off by default and use speakers for talk down instead of microphones where privacy is a concern.
Face recognition features can collect biometric data covered by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act. We leave them off unless your legal counsel approves a written policy and consent process.
Illinois law (720 ILCS 5/26-4) bars video recording in restrooms, locker rooms and changing rooms. Privacy masks keep other sensitive areas out of view.
We set how long footage is kept, who can export it and how exports are logged, so you can show how video is controlled.
Government buyers and federal contractors can choose cameras and recorders that meet Section 889 of the NDAA.

Many DuPage County buildings still run analog or early IP cameras on an aging recorder. A full rip and replace is rarely needed.
BTI has installed Avigilon cameras and Avigilon Alta (formerly Openpath) access control for clients in Downers Grove, a few minutes from our office, and Axis cameras for a Chicagoland Ford dealership.
