Brivo Access Control in Chicago and the Suburbs

BTI designs, sells, installs, supports and takes over existing Brivo accounts for organizations in the city and across Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will, Kane and McHenry counties. Projects are run from our Downers Grove office, so the engineer who scopes your doors works alongside the people who support them later.

Brivo services from our Downers Grove office

Chicago-area projects range from a single suite in the Loop to distribution centers along the I-55 and I-88 corridors. The scope changes from job to job; the method does not.

Survey and scoping

We document each opening, its lock and frame, the closest network closet and any landlord rules on drilling and cabling before a quote is written.

Line-item proposals

Proposals list Brivo controllers, readers, electrified hardware, Mobile Pass credentials and the annual Brivo Security Suite subscription separately, which keeps budgeting across several buildings simple.

Install and test

Technicians terminate, label and test every door, including vestibules and loading docks that take a beating in Chicago winters.

Integrations

Eagle Eye cameras are part of Brivo since the merger, so badge events and video share one account. Axis cameras, Bosch or Alula intrusion panels and Milestone XProtect can be part of the design.

Admin roles

We set up separate roles for HR, facilities and security staff so each group sees only the doors and reports it needs.

Switching your Brivo service to BTI in Chicagoland

Office moves, tenant turnover and mergers leave a lot of Chicago-area businesses with a Brivo account but no responsive provider. BTI can pick up the account you already have. After ownership is confirmed, we ask Brivo to move the account to BTI, review admins and access levels, and repair the doors that have been causing alarms.

  • Account move to BTI with admin and access level review
  • Renewal planning for subscriptions and added doors
  • Preventive checks on controllers, readers, locks and backup power
  • Exterior door checks before winter, including contacts and electrified hardware
  • 24/7 system health and alert monitoring available, plus a 24/7 converged security NOC/SOC

Need help today? 800-HELP-BTI is answered 24/7, and scheduled visits are booked through Downers Grove at 312-432-5300.

Eagle Eye video on your Chicagoland Brivo system

Since December 29, 2025, Eagle Eye has operated as part of Brivo, and Brivo Security Suite is offered in Standard, Professional, Enterprise and Multifamily editions. That puts dock doors, lobby readers and the cameras watching them in a single account managed by our Downers Grove team. For camera choices, Bridges, CMVRs and subscriptions, read Brivo Eagle Eye video in Chicagoland page.

Brivo news that matters in Chicagoland this year

Brivo's product line looks different than it did a year ago. Here is what changed for Chicago offices, warehouses and multi-tenant buildings.

Brivo Security Suite explained

Brivo Security Suite brings access control, video, visitor management and intrusion into one cloud platform, and it integrates with Eagle Eye cloud video. Property managers in the Loop and the suburbs run it from one login.

AI assistant access

Brivo now offers Brivo Reseller MCP, a Model Context Protocol server that lets Brivo dealers connect AI assistants to Brivo account data. BTI can use it to spot offline panels and reader errors sooner. The first release is read only, so it cannot change settings or unlock doors.

Lockdown from a phone

Brivo Genius Mobile Agent, winner of a Security Sales & Integration 2026 MVP award, lets administrators run commands such as a lockdown using simple voice or text prompts.

Campus safety award

Brivo's newsroom reported on July 14, 2026 that Brivo Eagle Eye Gun Detection earned a 2026 Secure Campus Award. Chicago-area schools can pair it with Brivo doors on a single platform. Source: Brivo newsroom, brivo.com/newsroom (July 14, 2026).

Radionix, formerly Bosch

The Bosch intrusion line has been renamed Radionix. Supported B and G Series panels can still be armed and disarmed from Brivo, including a two-swipe arm at a card reader.

Visitor badges and wallet credentials

Envoy runs Brivo Visitor Management, so the front desk can register each guest and issue a temporary credential. Employees can carry their badge in a phone wallet or in Brivo Mobile Pass.

Wireless interior locks

Brivo Security Suite now supports Schlage XE360 Series locks with RealSync for interior suites and back of house doors.

Brivo Security Suite features

What Chicagoland administrators get in the current suite:

  • Brivo Security Suite editions: Standard, Professional, Enterprise and Multifamily
  • Access, video, visitor management and intrusion in one cloud dashboard
  • Remote unlock, schedules and one-touch emergency lockdown
  • Mobile Pass plus Apple Wallet and Google Wallet badges
  • Encrypted OSDP readers with tamper alerts
  • Single sign-on with Entra ID and Okta

Burglar alarm integration with Brivo in Chicago and the suburbs

Warehouses and offices across the collar counties usually have an intrusion panel already. Brivo documents these intrusion options:

Alarm pathDocumented by BrivoSurvey item
Bosch B and G Series (now sold under the Radionix brand)Brivo arms and disarms the panel, a double card swipe can arm an area, and alarms land in the Brivo event log (firmware minimum applies)Panel firmware, closet network drop and the area each reader controls
Alula Connect+ and BAT-connectBrivo sets the Alula panel arming modeWhich staff may disarm, and after hours schedules
Brivo professional monitoringAnnounced in November 2025 for Bosch intrusion within Brivo Security SuiteWhether your current monitoring contract should stay

Panels not on this list can sometimes share events through wired inputs on a Brivo panel. We prove it on site first.

Connecting Brivo to Eagle Eye, OpenEye or Milestone XProtect

Chicago-area clients often run video on a platform they chose years ago. Brivo lists these video integrations:

How Brivo installs work in Chicagoland: step by step

Chicago projects juggle landlords, unions on some sites and winter weather. Here is the path we follow from Downers Grove.

  1. Survey with the landlord. Confirm riser access, drilling rules and closet space before a proposal is written
  2. Map tenants and roles. Decide who administers which doors so HR, facilities and security each see only their own
  3. Choose credentials. Keep compatible cards for now or move straight to Brivo Mobile Pass
  4. Fold in cameras and alarms. Add Eagle Eye cameras, connect a current VMS, or bring a Bosch or Alula panel into Brivo
  5. Install before the cold. Exterior doors and dock entries are scheduled early so contacts and hardware are tested before winter
  6. Train and support. Admins are trained on site, and service runs through Downers Grove

Brivo vs legacy access control in Chicago buildings

Many Chicago-area buildings still use an older server based access system. The differences that matter most:

IssueBrivoOlder server based access
Software upkeepBrivo maintains the cloud serviceLocal server patches and backups
Remote controlPhone and browser access to every siteUsually on site or by VPN
VideoEagle Eye cameras managed in BrivoSeparate recorder, separate login
Adding a buildingNew panels join the same accountAnother server or license
Outage behaviorPanels decide locally and sync afterLocal only

Some buildings keep a legacy system on secure floors by policy. We plan around that.

Chicago and suburban code notes

Chicago enforces its own Chicago Building Code, while each suburb enforces the IBC edition its village board adopted. We confirm the rules with each village or the city before install.

Electrified exit doors

Both codes regulate electrified doors along exit routes, for example request to exit sensors and delay devices. Exits must open from inside without a key.

Reach range for readers

The 2010 ADA Standards keep operable parts within the 15 to 48 inch reach range, so readers and exit buttons are mounted there.

Illinois licensing

Illinois licenses private alarm contractors under the Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, Fingerprint Vendor, and Locksmith Act of 2004. Ask us for our license details during the consultation.

Chicagoland Brivo FAQ

We have Brivo but our installer is gone. What now?

Call or book a consultation. We confirm that your company owns the account, request the move to BTI through Brivo, and send an engineer to document the doors so service can begin.

Does Brivo work in multi-tenant office buildings?

Yes. Brivo suits multi-tenant buildings because each tenant or department can have its own users, schedules and admins. We coordinate with property management on riser access and cabling.

Can we add doors at a second building later?

Yes. Brivo is managed from one cloud account, so a new building joins the same portal. We size the new panels and readers, add them to existing schedules and train local admins.

Can we see video with our door events?

Yes. Because Eagle Eye video now lives inside Brivo, an event opens the related clip in the same portal. If you already run Axis cameras, we review whether they can join that view.

Which parts of Chicagoland do you serve?

Chicago and suburban Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will, Kane, McHenry, DeKalb, Kendall and Grundy counties, plus Northwest Indiana and the Kenosha area of Wisconsin.

Do you work with public-sector buyers in Illinois?

Yes. Illinois buyers can use GSA contract 47QTCA21D00BA where it applies, and we can also quote through your agency's standard purchasing process.

What does support look like after installation?

Scheduled service is booked through Downers Grove, urgent issues go to 800-HELP-BTI at any hour, and monitoring plans can flag offline controllers before staff notice a dead door.

Did Eagle Eye become part of Brivo?

Yes. The deal closed at year end 2025. Eagle Eye cameras and cloud recording are now sold as part of Brivo, and our Downers Grove engineers design doors and cameras as one system.

Can Brivo control our intrusion alarm?

For Bosch B and G Series panels and Alula communicators, Brivo documents arming, disarming and event logging. Other panels are checked on site for input based options.

We record on Milestone. Do we have to switch?

No. The Brivo Access Control Module for XProtect brings door events into Milestone, and OpenEye is also listed. We look at your licenses before recommending a path.

Can Brivo cover interior doors without new wiring?

Yes. Brivo supports Schlage XE360 Series locks with RealSync, which stay connected over existing building Wi-Fi with no extra panels or gateways.

Do Apple Wallet and Google Wallet badges work with Brivo?

Yes. Employee badges can be added to either wallet, and Brivo Mobile Pass remains an option. Chicago buildings often keep existing cards during the changeover.

Can tenants check in visitors through Brivo?

Yes. Brivo Visitor Management, powered by Envoy, issues visitor credentials such as a QR code, PIN or mobile pass from the same Brivo Security Suite account the doors use.
