BTI sells, installs and supports exacqVision across Chicago, the collar counties and Northwest Indiana. Our Downers Grove technicians repair and replace recorders, renew licenses and take over exacqVision systems left behind by previous installers.

Chicago-area exacqVision systems often date back many years and have grown one camera at a time. We help owners make them stable, current and documented.

Every server is checked for software version, license tier, SSA date, drive health and camera status, and the results come back as a plain list of fixes.
We renew Software Subscription Agreements (SSAs), apply version upgrades during quiet hours and confirm every camera records afterward.
Replacement exacqVision servers are sized for your retention needs, and the cutover is planned so a building is never left unrecorded for long.

Kantech EntraPass and supported intrusion panels can feed events into exacqVision, giving security staff the video for a door or alarm in a couple of clicks.

Exterior cameras at docks and parking lots are checked for the heaters, seals and connections that winter tends to break.
Mergers, office moves and integrator closures leave many Chicago-area sites with exacqVision but no support contact. BTI can take over the system where it stands. After an inventory of recorders, cameras and licenses, we fix urgent faults first and then plan upgrades.
For urgent service, 800-HELP-BTI is staffed 24/7. To schedule a visit, reach our Downers Grove office on 312-432-5300.
A food ingredients plant in the southwest Chicago suburbs relies on BTI for Axis cameras, access control and security managed services, with one local team responsible for the equipment and its upkeep.
Client names stay confidential. This site runs a different video platform; ask about exacqVision systems similar to yours.

Two releases, 26.0 and 26.1, landed this year. These are the changes our Downers Grove engineers use most.
Live images are checked against stored reference shots, and exacqVision flags changes or failures on its own, sending alerts through its rules engine. 26.1 improved speed and accuracy.
A cloud relay links the Desktop Client and the new Mobile App to Chicago-area servers without opening firewall ports or maintaining a VPN.
Staff can sign in with Microsoft or Okta credentials, with multifactor authentication, starting in version 26.0.
The app gains an Alerts Center, a shared timeline for up to 16 cameras and VideoPush, which forwards a clip from search results to another user.
Version 26.1 adds required and self-service password changes, and it can alert in real time when users, servers, failover settings or licenses are changed.
26.1 records Kantech and SALTO lock activity, for example access granted or denied, and makes it searchable alongside video.
Where the platform stands now for Chicago-area systems:
Chicago-area clients usually want door and alarm events in the same view as video. These are the exacqVision links we build.
| Connected system | Operator benefit | Check first |
|---|---|---|
| Kantech EntraPass | Door events link to recorded video | EntraPass and exacqVision versions |
| Intrusion panels | Alarm events open the right camera | Panel model and connection |
| IP cameras (Axis, Illustra, ONVIF) | More cameras on existing servers | Storage and license count |
| Brivo access control | Exacq lists a Brivo integration on Professional and Enterprise | License tier and account access |
See Kantech access control in Chicagoland for doors.
For Chicago-area sites, these are the access, intrusion, camera, analytics and identity integrations we can add.
Here is how our Downers Grove team picks up an exacqVision system and keeps it healthy.

Three exacqVision editions cover Chicagoland sites. Limits shift with software versions, so we confirm them in writing.
| Version | Right for | Adds |
|---|---|---|
| Professional | Plants and offices linking Kantech or an alarm panel | Integrations and advanced search |
| Enterprise | Groups with many suburban sites | Central management, AD and LDAP, health dashboard |
| Edge | A guard shack, lot or other spot with no server room | The software runs on supported Axis or Illustra cameras |
We also support Milestone XProtect, so a side by side VMS comparison is part of any replacement plan.
Illinois privacy law is strict. We raise these items early; your counsel decides.
Under 720 ILCS 5/14, recording a private conversation generally needs consent from everyone involved, so audio channels remain muted unless your lawyer clears them.
BIPA (740 ILCS 14) governs face templates, so face analytics are reviewed with counsel before any use.
Chicago has its own building code and suburbs adopt the IBC with changes, so cable routes follow each AHJ.

The system keeps recording, but newer exacqVision versions need a current agreement. We quote the renewal and plan the upgrade once it is active.
Usually. exacqVision supports a wide range of IP cameras, and we confirm each model and firmware before moving it to a new server.
Yes. Kantech EntraPass integrates with exacqVision, and supported intrusion panels can too, so door and alarm events link straight to recorded video.
Yes. Hammond, Merrillville, Valparaiso and Kenosha are inside our service area along with the city and suburbs.
Yes, through GSA contract 47QTCA21D00BA where the scope fits, or through the agency's usual quoting process.
Yes. Optional health monitoring tells us when a recorder, drive or camera stops reporting, often before anyone at the site notices.
Professional adds integrations like Kantech plus advanced search. Enterprise is built for multi-site groups, with centralized administration, Active Directory login and a system health dashboard. Edge records directly on compatible Axis or Illustra camera models without a separate server.
Yes. Brivo appears on Exacq's integration list for the Professional and Enterprise tiers. We confirm your tier and Brivo account before connecting them.
Only with care. BIPA requires written notice and consent before collecting face templates in Illinois, which is why counsel reviews any analytics plan before we turn it on.
Exacq has deprecated it. Existing recorders keep working, while new licenses are sold as Professional, Enterprise or Edge. Our Downers Grove team can review the server and map out the move.
Yes. Remote users connect through a cloud relay from the latest desktop and mobile apps, so no inbound firewall rules or VPN are required.
Yes. Version 26.0 and later accept Microsoft Entra ID or Okta credentials for single sign-on, with multifactor authentication.
Yes. Scylla-powered Exacq Active Intelligence servers can flag intrusion, weapons, fights and falls, and supported Axis cameras add audio analytics in recent versions.
