Multi-Location IT Infrastructure Rollouts: One Standard, Built the Same at Every Site

Opening branches, adding facilities or bringing acquired offices onto one network is easier when every site is built from the same plan. BTI designs a site standard for firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi, computers and connectivity, pre-stages the equipment and rolls it out site by site, tested and documented.

Why one standard beats site-by-site buying

Locations that grow one at a time end up with different firewalls, mixed Wi-Fi and a different setup in every closet. Each site becomes its own support problem.

  • Faster support. The same models and settings everywhere mean one fix works at every site.
  • Consistent security. One firewall policy, one segmentation plan and one remote access method for all locations.
  • Predictable cost. A known bill of materials per site type makes budgeting the next location simple.
  • One view. Cloud-managed equipment lets your team see every location from one dashboard.

What gets standardized at each location

Firewalls, SD-WAN and VPN

The same firewall model family and policy at each site, site-to-site VPN or SD-WAN between locations, and remote access protected by MFA. See firewall and SD-WAN installation.

Switching

Switches sized by site type, with enough PoE power for phones, access points and cameras, and one VLAN plan for staff, guests, voice, cameras and building systems.

Wi-Fi

BTI designs and validates Wi-Fi with Ekahau, so each site gets coverage planned for its floor plan, with the same network names and security everywhere. See commercial Wi-Fi installation.

Computers

One computer build for every location: imaged, enrolled in device management, secured and delivered ready to sign in. See Windows 11 and PC refresh.

Connectivity

Primary and backup internet ordered and coordinated with carriers, automatic failover and the same addressing scheme at each site.

Cabling, racks and phones

Labeled cabling, a standard rack layout and, where you need them, phones and building security on the same plan. See network installation and structured cabling.

The site standard: what BTI writes down before the first install

  • Bill of materials for each site type, such as small branch, large office and warehouse.
  • Rack layout and labeling scheme, so any technician can find any port.
  • IP addressing and VLAN plan that repeats at every location.
  • Firewall policy template, VPN or SD-WAN settings and remote access rules.
  • Wi-Fi network names, security settings and access point placement rules.
  • Computer build, device management enrollment and security baseline.
  • Site acceptance checklist: what must be tested and documented before a site is signed off.

How a multi-location rollout runs

1

Value engineering and site surveys

Free value engineering: we inventory what each site has, survey the ones that matter most and decide what stays and what is replaced.

2

Pilot site

The standard goes in at one location first. Lessons from the pilot update the standard before it repeats.

3

Pre-staging

Equipment is configured, labeled and tested in advance, then packed by site, so installation day is short.

4

Site sequencing

Sites are scheduled around circuit lead times, lease dates and your busy seasons, with one rollout calendar you can see.

5

Cutover and commissioning

Cutovers are scheduled with you, often after hours. Each site is tested against the acceptance checklist: Wi-Fi validation, failover, VPN and phone tests.

6

Documentation and decommissioning

As-built records and network diagrams per site, and old equipment removed once the new setup is signed off.

What you receive when each site is signed off

Every location closes with the same acceptance record, so you can compare sites and prove the work was done:

  • Completed acceptance checklist with test results for internet failover, VPN or SD-WAN, Wi-Fi coverage and phones.
  • Photos of the rack, labeling and access point mounting.
  • Network diagram, port map and IP plan for the site.
  • Equipment list with serial numbers and support dates.
  • Admin credentials handed over securely to the people you name.
  • A punch list of anything deferred, with owners and dates.

New and acquired locations

Rollouts rarely end with the original site list. When you sign a new lease or acquire a business, the standard becomes the starting point: BTI documents what the new site has, decides what can stay, coordinates vendors, domain registrations, cloud accounts and contact center settings, and cuts the location over on a scheduled date. Cloud-managed equipment can be configured before it is unboxed, so a new site joins the network with less time on site.

Local details that change a rollout

  • Los Angeles and Southern California: BTI coordinates rack anchoring and seismic bracing as part of the build.
  • Chicagoland: BTI supplies certificates of insurance for building management and schedules freight elevators and riser access in multi-tenant buildings.
  • Phoenix and Tucson: equipment closets are checked for cooling and ventilation before new gear is installed.

What drives the cost of a multi-location rollout

  • Number of sites and how different they are in size and layout.
  • Equipment that can be kept versus replaced at each site.
  • Cabling condition and whether new drops are needed.
  • Number of computers per site and whether they are new or refreshed.
  • Internet circuits, backup connections and carrier lead times.
  • After-hours cutovers and how quickly sites need to be completed.

Pricing is itemized per site type, so adding the next location is easy to budget.

Finance the rollout, not just the hardware

BTI can arrange 3.99% financing for 100% of the project, including equipment, labor and consulting, for qualified buyers, subject to credit approval. Many bank loans run 10% or more and ask for far more collateral. BTI financing is secured only by the new equipment itself.

Frequently asked questions

What is a multi-location IT rollout?

A project that deploys the same firewall, switching, Wi-Fi, computer and connectivity setup across several offices, branches or facilities, using one site standard, one schedule and one acceptance checklist for every location.

Why standardize every site instead of buying what each location needs?

Identical sites are faster to troubleshoot, easier to secure and cheaper to support. When every location uses the same models, VLAN plan and firewall policy, a fix or change at one site can be repeated at all of them, and your team sees every location in one place.

Can BTI roll out to sites outside Los Angeles, Chicagoland and Phoenix?

Yes. BTI does multi-location rollouts nationwide, managed from its offices in Los Angeles, Chicagoland and Phoenix. Tell us where your sites are during the free consultation and we will plan the rollout for each one.

Do you configure equipment before it reaches each site?

Yes. Firewalls, switches and access points are configured, labeled and tested before they ship or arrive, so on-site time goes to installation and testing instead of setup.

Can sites stay open during the rollout?

Usually, yes. Cutovers are scheduled with you, often after hours, and the old equipment stays in place until the new setup passes testing.

Do we have to replace equipment at every site at once?

No. BTI value engineers the rollout at no charge, keeps equipment that still has life in it and can phase sites by budget, lease dates or circuit lead times.

Can computers be part of the rollout?

Yes. New or refreshed PCs can be imaged, enrolled in device management and delivered ready to use at each site, using the same build everywhere. See Windows 11 and PC refresh for the device side.

What about internet at each location?

BTI coordinates circuits with carriers, recommends a backup connection where downtime is costly and sets up automatic failover and SD-WAN so traffic moves to the working link.

How do we bring an acquired office onto our standard?

BTI documents what the new site has, plans the move to your standard, coordinates vendors, domain registrations and cloud accounts, and cuts the site over on a scheduled date.

Can we finance a multi-location rollout?

Yes. BTI can arrange 3.99% financing for 100% of the project, including equipment, labor and consulting, for qualified buyers, subject to credit approval.

Send us your list of sites and a rough count of users and devices at each. The first consultation is free, and value engineering costs nothing.
