Motion detection on cameras alone tends to trigger on headlights, shadows, rain and animals. Axis security radar measures the position, distance and speed of an object, then classifies it as a human or a vehicle.
Radar works on its own or alongside video. Pair it with a PTZ camera that turns and zooms automatically, a horn speaker that warns the intruder, and an alert to your team or a monitoring center. Radar-video fusion cameras put the radar and the camera in one device so every detection comes with video.
As an Axis Gold Partner with offices in California, Illinois and Arizona, BTI Communications Group handles the full lifecycle: site walk, coverage modeling, mounting, programming, VMS integration, training and support.
Detect and classify humans and vehicles in open areas such as yards, rooftops, lots and fence lines, with built-in analytics developed using machine learning and deep learning.
AXIS Radar Autotracking for PTZ automatically controls the direction and zoom of one or many PTZ cameras so detected objects are confirmed visually.
Trigger a horn speaker or strobe speaker the moment someone enters a protected zone. See Axis network audio.
Road profiles track vehicles and speeds. AXIS Speed Monitor visualizes speeds, triggers alarms and recordings, exports CSV and publishes data via MQTT.
Up to 180° per AXIS D2110-VE, or 360° with two units back to back covering vehicles over 22,000 m² (240,000 ft²), per Axis.
Signed firmware, shock detection and casing-open detection on the D2110-VE, and Axis Edge Vault on the Q1656-DLE.
BTI selects radar by area shape, mounting height and what you need to see. Detection ranges below are as published by Axis and depend on mounting height, tilt and scene.

180° area coverage; people up to 60 m (200 ft) and vehicles up to 85 m (280 ft); PoE out for a camera or horn speaker.

60 GHz radar with a 95° field of detection; humans up to 60 m (200 ft), vehicles up to 90 m (295 ft); road profile up to 150 m (492 ft) at speeds up to 200 km/h (125 mph).

4 MP Q-line camera with an integrated radar; radar and video fused in AXIS Object Analytics; can guide a separate PTZ camera.

Traffic and gate monitoring with radar speed tracking up to 300 km/h (186 mph) and license plate capture.
Axis also lists AXIS D2050-VE, D2122-VE and D2123-VE radars for other mounting and coverage needs. Smart coexistence lets up to eight D2210-VE radars work in close proximity, expandable with up to six D2110-VE radars, per Axis. Photo courtesy of Axis Communications AB. All rights reserved.

Axis lists its radars and radar-video fusion cameras as compatible with AXIS Camera Station Pro, so detections, video and alarms live in one client. See AXIS Camera Station.
Axis radars also work with third-party VMS. For Milestone XProtect, Axis lists AXIS Optimizer support for the D2110-VE.
Axis radars are built on the Axis open platform (VAPIX and ACAP), and the D2210-VE can send data to an MQTT broker for building and IoT systems.
On radar-video fusion cameras, radar and video detections are fused in AXIS Object Analytics for classification with distance and speed. See video analytics software.
PoE out on the D2110-VE and D2210-VE can power an additional device such as a camera or horn speaker, and the D2210-VE has an integrated LED strip for visual feedback.
Route verified alarms to your team or a monitoring center, with support from the BTI 24/7 NOC/SOC. See managed security support.
Substations, water sites and yards where fence lines are long and false alarms are costly. See critical infrastructure security.
Truck yards, trailer lots and docks after hours, with talk-down before anyone reaches a door. See warehouse and logistics security.
Perimeters, rooftops and storage areas around plants. See manufacturing security.
Campus perimeters, fields and parking lots after hours. See education security.
Lots, gates and access roads with speed monitoring and vehicle classification. See parking and venue security.

480-291-8374Axis security radar is a network device that uses radar technology to detect, classify and track humans and vehicles 24/7 in various weather and all light conditions. Axis states it offers a low false alarm rate compared with relying on video motion alone.
Per Axis, the AXIS D2110-VE detects people up to 60 m (200 ft) and vehicles up to 85 m (280 ft) across 180 degrees. The AXIS D2210-VE detects humans up to 60 m and vehicles up to 90 m across 95 degrees, and up to 150 m for vehicles in road profile. Range depends on mounting height and tilt.
A radar-video fusion camera, such as the AXIS Q1656-DLE, combines a camera and a radar in one device. Radar and video detections are fused in AXIS Object Analytics, so you get classification plus distance and speed with video.
