Traditional paging needs amplifiers, separate wiring and someone walking the building to find out what stopped working. Axis network audio puts every speaker on your standard IP network.
Each Axis speaker is a complete audio system with built-in digital signal processing, powered and connected by a single Power over Ethernet cable. Because it is built on open standards, Axis audio integrates with your video management system, VoIP phones and analytics, and you can test speaker health remotely instead of sending a technician.

What Axis Audio Delivers
Live and automated talk-down
When a camera, radar or analytic detects someone where they should not be, a horn speaker plays a prerecorded warning or an operator speaks live. Most intruders leave before anything happens.
Emergency messaging
Lockdown, evacuation and shelter instructions to one zone or every zone at once. AXIS Audio Manager Pro gives critical messages priority over anything scheduled.
Paging and public address
Page staff from a paging console, a computer, or a SIP phone. Zones can be as small as one speaker or as large as thousands.
Background music and announcements
Schedule music, ads and recurring announcements by zone, with live voice always taking priority.
Remote health monitoring
Built-in speaker tests and a system dashboard show what is working without a site visit.
Strobe and visual alerts

AXIS Camera Station Pro
Axis states AXIS Camera Station Pro offers easy integration with AXIS Audio Manager Pro, so operators can manage audio alongside video and doors in one system. See AXIS Camera Station.
VAPIX, SIP and MQTT
Axis speakers are built on open standards. The D4200-VE, for example, lists VAPIX, SIP, MQTT and I/O integration, so audio can be triggered from a VMS, a PSIM or a building system.
Analytics triggers
Pair speakers with AXIS Object Analytics, security radar or AXIS Audio Analytics, which detects screams, shouts and breaking glass without streaming audio. See video analytics software.
Mass notification

What is Axis network audio?
Axis network audio is a public address and talk-down system built on standard IP networks. Each speaker is a complete audio system with built-in DSP, powered over one PoE cable, and can be managed and health-tested remotely.
How many speakers can an Axis audio system manage?
Axis states AXIS Audio Manager Edge, preinstalled on Axis audio devices, manages up to 200 speakers in up to 20 zones. AXIS Audio Manager Pro manages up to 5,000 speakers and more than 500 zones.
Can Axis speakers work with our phones and mass notification?
Yes. AXIS Audio Manager Pro supports SIP, so a phone can act as a paging microphone, and Axis lists AXIS Speaker Functionality for Singlewire InformaCast on its horn, mini and strobe speakers. BTI confirms compatibility with your platform during design.
Can Axis audio play warnings automatically when someone is detected?
Yes. Speakers can be triggered by cameras, radar or analytics such as AXIS Object Analytics, playing a prerecorded message or letting an operator talk down live.
Does Axis audio work in AXIS Camera Station Pro?
Yes. Axis states AXIS Camera Station Pro supports Axis audio products, including easy integration with AXIS Audio Manager Pro, alongside video and access control.
Can we reuse our existing speakers?
Often. The AXIS C8210 Network Audio Amplifier turns passive speakers into network audio over PoE. BTI checks your existing speakers and wiring during the site walk.
Can we tell if a speaker stops working?
Yes. Axis speakers such as the AXIS C1310-E Mk II have a built-in microphone for remote health testing, and AXIS Audio Manager Pro includes system health monitoring, so problems show up without a site walk.
