Managed Endpoint Security and EDR

Each laptop, desktop and server is a potential door into your network. BTI deploys and manages endpoint protection on them in two tiers: Bitdefender baseline, managed by BTI without SOC coverage, or SentinelOne monitored by BTI's 24/7 NOC/SOC. MDR requires the SentinelOne tier.

Two tiers of endpoint protection

Endpoint Protection comes in two tiers. Baseline: Bitdefender, managed by BTI, without SOC coverage. Recommended: SentinelOne, monitored by BTI's 24/7 NOC/SOC. MDR requires the SentinelOne tier.

Many organizations run both: SentinelOne on servers and high-risk users, Bitdefender elsewhere. Each device is an itemized line, so you can mix tiers.

What BTI manages on each covered endpoint

  • Deployment to the laptops, desktops and servers in your agreement, with coverage reports so gaps stand out.
  • Policy tuning, exclusions and updates, managed centrally.
  • Alerts routed to BTI, with documented triage and follow-up.
  • Device inventory tied to Intune device management and to patching, so an unprotected or unpatched device stands out.
  • Monthly reporting on coverage and detections.
  • Evidence for auditors and insurers that endpoint protection is installed and active.

Why EDR, not just antivirus

Traditional antivirus looks for known bad files. Attackers now use stolen credentials, legitimate admin tools and fileless techniques that antivirus often misses. EDR records what processes do on the device, so a security analyst can spot suspicious behavior, investigate the chain of events and act to contain it. Endpoint detection and response on all endpoints and servers is also one of the controls cyber insurers commonly ask about on applications and renewals; see Cyber Insurance Readiness.

Network isolation and 1-click rollback with SentinelOne

  • Network isolation: when an endpoint is compromised, it can be cut off from the network quickly to limit the threat's spread to other systems. A secure management channel to the SentinelOne console stays open, so BTI can investigate and remediate the device while it is isolated.
  • 1-click rollback on Windows endpoints: SentinelOne uses Windows Volume Shadow Copies to restore files that were encrypted, deleted or altered to an earlier state, where shadow copies are available.

Rollback is fast remediation for a compromised endpoint. It is not a replacement for immutable backup and disaster recovery, which protect servers, data and whole sites. See Backup & Disaster Recovery.

SentinelOne with the 24/7 NOC/SOC

With the recommended tier, SentinelOne alerts go to BTI's 24/7 NOC/SOC. Analysts investigate and escalate around the clock and work the steps in your incident response plan. This tier is the foundation of BTI's MDR service, which adds managed SIEM options and incident response. When an incident calls for on-site work, BTI staff respond in Los Angeles and Southern California, Chicagoland and Phoenix; elsewhere in the U.S., BTI coordinates on-site help through partners. Remote response is available wherever BTI supports you. Full detail: 24/7 MDR & Incident Response.

How it fits the rest of your program

  • Prevent: pairs with Email Security & Awareness Training and Identity, MFA & Devices.
  • Know where you stand: a free pen test shows whether your current endpoint tools detect a simulated attack.
  • Govern and prove: coverage reports feed your WISP and evidence controls.
  • Recover: if an endpoint is lost or encrypted, backup and disaster recovery gets it back.

Getting started

  1. Free assessment: we inventory your endpoints and current protection.
  2. Proposal: an itemized line per device and tier.
  3. Deployment: BTI removes legacy agents where needed and deploys the new platform in phases.
  4. Ongoing: managed policies, monitoring and monthly reporting.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Bitdefender and SentinelOne at BTI?

Bitdefender is the baseline tier: endpoint protection managed by BTI, without SOC coverage. SentinelOne is the recommended tier: EDR monitored by BTI's 24/7 NOC/SOC, with investigation and response under your incident response plan. MDR requires the SentinelOne tier.

Can we keep our current antivirus?

Sometimes. In the assessment we check what you run and whether it meets your insurer and compliance requirements, then recommend keeping, replacing or layering.

Do you cover servers and Macs?

BTI covers Windows and macOS workstations and servers supported by the chosen platform; we confirm coverage for each device during the assessment.

How is endpoint protection priced?

Per device, itemized. We publish no price list; your proposal shows each line.

Is incident response extra?

For managed security clients, incident response is included in BTI managed security, as defined in your service agreement.

Can SentinelOne undo ransomware damage?

On Windows endpoints, 1-click rollback uses Windows Volume Shadow Copies to restore encrypted, deleted or altered files where shadow copies are available. It is a fast fix for a compromised endpoint, not a substitute for managed backup and disaster recovery.
