Why Notification Fails When It Is Bolted On Later

Daily paging and emergency alerts are useless if they do not reach the right zones, if cellular is dead on the floor, or if security cameras, access control, and duress buttons do not share the same playbook. BTI designs paging and mass notification as part of converged workplace safety, not as a standalone PA afterthought.

  • People must be findable. In large automated plants a single human may work alone in a mechanized area over 50,000 sq ft. Mustering, duress, callboxes, AI video, and agentic SOC correlation exist so responders know where people are.
  • Messages need a path. Overhead speakers, IP endpoints, SMS, apps, and phones only work when coverage and integrations are intentional, including in-building cellular signal boosting inside steel and concrete.
  • Vendors must coexist. Most campuses and factories already have mixed audio, intercom, and security brands. BTI integrates them instead of forcing a rip-and-replace.

Depth on the safety platform: workplace safety technology.

What BTI Delivers

Overhead and IP paging

Amplifiers, speakers, horns, zone paging, and IP paging endpoints for daily operations and emergency voice. Brands from BTI's distribution bench include Valcom, Bogen, Algo, Visiplex, Viking, and others as the design requires.

Mass and emergency notification

Multi-channel alerts across speakers, desktops, signage, SMS, apps, and related outputs so staff, students, and visitors get the same message in time.

Mustering and accountability

When the alarm sounds, know who is still inside. Ties to access control and mobile or muster-point workflows that support employee accounting after evacuation, consistent with OSHA emergency action plan expectations (29 CFR 1910.38). Technology supports your program; it does not by itself make a facility OSHA compliant. Critical for manufacturing lone-worker and large-campus events.

Duress, panic, and Lynx

As a Lynx System partner, BTI delivers Lynx network duress and mass notification that is affordable, integrates with everything, and carries preferred pricing. Keyboard/panic inputs, strobes, PA interfaces, and security-system integrations per LynxGuide capabilities. See our Lynx System partner page for LynxGuide duress and mass notification depth, plus workplace safety.

Callboxes, towers, and help points

Emergency callboxes and towers for campuses, parking structures, and perimeters. Talk-A-Phone dealer capability plus related help-point designs. Also see parking and venues and workplace safety.

Intercoms and door communication

Aiphone dealer capability for intercoms that connect entries, desks, and security operations with the wider notification stack. Related: Axis network intercoms.

Axis Audio and network voice

Axis Audio dealer capability for network speakers and paging/voice notification. BTI is an Axis Gold Partner. Related: Axis network audio · Axis network intercoms.

Elevator emergency communicators

Modern two-way elevator emergency communications for commercial, multifamily, and campus buildings, designed with the same response workflows as callboxes and SOC playbooks. See also workplace safety.

In-building cellular signal boosting

Mass notification, Lynx/SMS/app alerts, mustering apps, and lone-worker phones need usable cellular indoors. BTI provides in-building cellular signal boosting so alerts and voice reach people where Wi-Fi alone is not enough. Learn more about cellular signal booster installation.

Manufacturing Use Case: Lone Worker in a 50,000+ sq ft Mechanized Area

Highly automated factories often place one person alone inside a large mechanized footprint. Identifying where people are is the difference between a drill and a tragedy.

How It Ties to Workplace Safety

This page owns communications depth. Workplace safety technology owns the converged platform (visitor/watchlists, access, AI video, threat sensors, intrusion, callboxes/elevators, cyber, agentic SOC).

Proof Points

La Mesa school district (BTI project)

BTI delivered fence entry control plus intercom for parks and playgrounds at La Mesa school district sites. That project is separate from mass notification and Lynx deployments.

LynxGuide deployments

LynxGuide is deployed at campuses and healthcare sites nationwide. On our Lynx System partner materials, customer logos are shown only as Lynx deployments, with attribution to Lynx Systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a mass notification system?

A multi-channel way to reach people during emergencies and major events across speakers, screens, SMS, apps, and related endpoints.

How is this different from overhead paging alone?

Paging covers voice to zones. Mass notification adds multi-channel reach, lockdown/duress workflows, and ties to security and mustering.

What is IP paging?

Network-based paging endpoints and amplifiers that send zone or facility voice over IP, often alongside legacy overhead speakers. BTI designs mixed IP and analog paging as the site requires.

Is BTI a Lynx System partner?

Yes. BTI is a Lynx System partner. Lynx is affordable, integrates with everything, and carries preferred pricing. See our Lynx System partner page and workplace safety technology.

What other brands does BTI install?

Talk-A-Phone, Aiphone, Axis Audio, Valcom, Bogen, Algo, Visiplex, Viking, and many other distribution/paging solutions as the design requires.

Did BTI do work for La Mesa school district?

Yes. BTI delivered fence entry control plus intercom for parks and playgrounds at La Mesa school district. That project is separate from mass notification and Lynx deployments.

What do LynxGuide customer logos mean on BTI pages?

They mean Lynx is deployed at that customer. They do not mean BTI performed the installation unless a separate BTI project is explicitly stated.

How do you help manufacturing lone workers?

Combine mustering, duress/Lynx, callboxes, AI video, agentic SOC, notification, and in-building cellular signal boosting so a person alone in a 50,000+ sq ft mechanized area can be found and reached.

Do you offer in-building cellular signal boosting?

Yes. See cellular signal booster installation.

Is remote central station monitoring required?

No. It is available alongside BTI's 24/7 NOC/SOC.

Can we finance a project?

Yes, 100% financing for hardware, licensing, and labor is offered.
